stupid prison riots!

agg the stupid intergalactic guys keep rioting and then somehow gaining access to huge battleships! and all i have is fighters and defenders!

I don't think I've seen prison battleships yet, just prison battlecruisers.

Lure them to your enemies using your speedy starfighters.

The might of the various Pirates and Sharks seems to be directly proportional to time passed (or tech researched?). On my tech victory game, I saw some truly impressive baddies show up, able to survive an antimatter missile.

Fortunately, I had a half dozen more around if needed

The only time I've experienced the breakouts, I didn't have ships in orbit...

I usually vote for some other empire to get the zoo or the prison. Sure, the bonus might be nice and I might get stuck with one of them anyway due to how the vote turns out, but I prefer someone else to have their ships and even starbases/trade routes hit by these things.

if I take lucky.. then i don't get them breaking outy... but i find it fun blasting them away when they break out

In my current game they broke out. Eventually they went chasing after an altarian corvette and left me alone. A couple years later, I found them at the edge of altarian space, destroying my arriving freighter paths. (:(
