Alliances with minors?

I've never seen the option to form an alliance with a minor, even though on several occasions I've given them Alliance technology. (Ok, so I didn't give it to them, I sold it. picky, picky) ;)

I think you must be able to ally with minors though, because often when I have declared war on a major, not only do it's major allies declare war on me, often several minors do too, and they claim it's because of an alliance.

If minors can form alliances, how would I determine who is allied with which minors? Is there a nice screen like the treaties screen for majors?

Minors can ally with Majors. It is just like making an alliance with a Major, the option pops up when it is available (i.e. when you have close relations and have researched Alliances).

In the diplomacy screen when you click on Speak to, you will see three buttons right in the middle of the screen. The first is a fist. This is where you find out minor races' alliances/who they are at war with.

Are you kidding? It helps a lot! I never realized that my relations color bar had to be a close first, I just thought it would be less likely they'd agree if our relations weren't good.

I knew the information I was after had to be somewhere.
