I have found two issues that are annoying but don't really affect play that much. :notsure:
1. When a colony is under cultural pressure from another empire and displays the icon on the Sun. If money is spent on this colony to make it less affected, and later when the empire applying the pressure is destroyed, the colony is still showing the icon on the sun. Seems that once the icon is displayed it never goes away no matter what changes in the game have occurred.
2. When a colony has the 'auto-launch' option turned on and at some time in the future the option is turned off while it produces a different type of ship, a colony ship for example, the new ship is still auto-launched even with the option showing that it is turned off. Its really annoying when you want to send 500 off to a class 15 planet but due to the auto-launch bug the colony ship is carrying 10000. And it does not seem to matter how many new ships are built they all auto-launch.

Does the system have an active rally point?

The U.P has banned Terror Star production, however the ai's will still build up to the stage before completing a terror star (or thats as far as this station I'm watching has built). Needless to say I got a big surprise!
Wydom@ker sounds like you might be using rally points like Ray says. I've done the same, hate it when I forget to turn them off
~SDC~
Ok they have built 7 terror stars now... so much for obeying the U.P, at least now I can the terror stars off them.
~SDC~
Ok seems the first Terror Star ruling wasn't holding, another has been passed by the U.P... and yes both are meant to ban terror stars forever. Hopefully things will even out now.

I've never seen this super transporter and regularly complete all research (usually as neutral or good).

This isn't related to the patch: it's always been there.
The numbers are chosen randomly, and occasionally things do get mixed up a bit because of it.

Thanks for the clarification. The randomness does make for some easy choices though.
Is this a question I am supposed to answer or is it something else?
I don't have a german version.

Yes, i do but what does that mater??
Good point, I'll check it out. It would be wrong, IMHO, for a rally point to over ride the auto-launch setting. The rally point should only affect ships that auto-launch, not manual launch ship.
I wanted to know, wether this problem is specific to the german version.
Thanks for your answers.
Is the problem at my end (somehow? registration or something) . . . I have no idea why it is so . . .

Here are some suggestions on what to try to reduce crashing:
1) Run scandisk and defrag your harddrive.
2) Update your sound and video drivers.
3) run dxdiag and run all the tests to make sure that there's nothing wrong with any of your drivers and your directx installation is good.
4) Some media player programs like WinDVD and Winamp3 have buggy codecs that can cause GalCiv to crash. If you install SmartException from the free stuff tab in Stardock Central, it will often report what codec is causing the crash.
5) run this: if anything has overwritten the system default sound codecs, this will fix them:
http://www.stardock.com/files/ms_mp3codec.exe
SmartException creates a file called GalCiv.exe.cra when GalCiv crashes if SmartException is running. You can send that file to me at [email protected].
Phaedyme: try taking out the cultural win cutscene and see if that gets rid of the crash. It might have been corrupted during decompression.
For those of you with the German version, you may want to do a clean installation from Stardock Central.
TheoLeo: wasn't there anything else in the SE report?
DDoodle: try saving, shutting down the game, and re-starting.
JoeDark: e-mail the save game to me. [email protected] I'll need both the .sav file and the folder with the same name as the .sav file.
I'll try and figure out why some of you can't build the excalibur.
For those of you running the German version, who have had trouble with crashes, also please send me a copy of your debug.err files with the SmartException reports.

No I want not! I've bought my version - so it should run. And as there isnt a german update planned...
Darklor
The installation of 1.10 over 1.05 seems to have waxed the bonus pack. Not only can I not build excaliburs but AMM's are not available either. I uninstalled/reinstalled the bonus pack and things seem to work now.
I scanned the thread for signs of this issue but didn't see any reports on it. I am getting frequent display errors involving ships of only one or two types at a time. The graphics for the ship appear not to be loading: both on the map, and mini-icons for orbit. The ships are still there, and the game plays on as normal, but friend or foe, all ships of that type from all empires will simply be invisible. Other, older ship types behave normally. Invisible ships cannot be clicked on directly, but otherwise work normally.
This bug only seems to occur after long sessions. That is, they always occur late in a session, when I've been playing for over an hour or more, usually with high tech ship classes, though I have seen it on over half a dozen ship classes, and as early as frigates. I have not been able to find any consistent tie-ins (such as it only happening when I use governor's military swap, etc, so I have no idea what's causing it).
The problem corrects if I save the game, exit and load up. This is happening in version 1.10.073. I have a GE-Force2 vidcard, SBLive sound, and an AMD XP1700 CPU.

And Cari knows about the problem. I noticed that in 1.10.073 that there are some new error messages in the debug file that might relate to the problem some how, and sent her a copy of it.

This has happened to me for quite some time now, and shows up on two OSs for me, ME and XP, with levels of DirectX in the 8.x and 9.x levels.
I think I reported it once or twice, but I have not seen any other comments about it, so now I am curious to hear from anyone else that may have seen it.
Cheers.
