What version of SDC do you have? Mine updated this morning to 2.03.314 build 78 and I don't see any "Think Desk" there.

I just have directories for install & archive/restore and the home page setting.

I updated to the same one. If you right click the SDC icon on your task bar, then click on settings, then advanced. It's right there in the show/hide applications under free stuff. It is also right there in the settings when you log on to SDC (Stardock Central). I am at home and no one has hacked my computer.

Then I get the normal windows "minimise, maximise, restore, close etc etc" menu - no settings.

then click on settings, then advanced

I don't see "settings" (as I said above), if I open the SDC Tools->Settings menu (or click on "Registration Info" in the status bar) then I see what I said before in #4

It's right there in the show/hide applications under free stuff.

?? ?? You don't mean Natural Desktop ?

Maybe you should post a screenshot somewhere?

Think Desk is a new forthcoming suite of applications that are designed to increase productivity in Windows. One of the programs is already available from the Stardock site, called Multiplicity, and it allows you to control a 2nd PC from another using only 1 keyboard/mouse and monitor.

I don't know what to tell you. It is on mine. Unfortunately I do not know how to upload a screenshot. I read how to do it, but .... I do not have Natural Desktop. I am talking about Stardock Central. If you do not have Settings on yours you should re download it. My older version had the "Settings" as well.

Hippy, I have something with that description called control Center

SD, I think what their talking about is more like Norton's PC Anywhere that lets you remotely control another computer across the internet or on a LAN.

Not fair to tease Hippy.
It took me a while to find Multiplicity on Stardock.com (I finally had to resort to google) and the product looks amazing! I use a TabletPC and a desktop at the office and being able to control both from one would be a HUGE productivity boost. But the download link points to the info page.

Interestingly, the buy button is not a liink yet, just an image. Ande the price is going to impact my decision to buy. It looks like a great tool . . . but I'm already in Stardock's pocket for ODNT, WinCustomize, OD+, CursorXP, Unorthodox Skins, Natural Desktop, TotalGaming.net . . . Sooner or later the wife is going to notice. I also need to save up for Darth Tater Link when it comes out.

Multiplicity is actually not out yet for Consumers. This will be announced in a couple of weeks (or so). Multiplicity for Business/Corporations is currently reaching availability however. Link

How is "Multiplicity" different from XPs' "RDC" Remote Desktop Connection, or PCAnywhere for that matter?
I use "RDC" all the time, here at the house, I have 3 headless machines doing grunt work all the time, and where PCAnywhere, avoids some issues, such as sound card problems, "RDC" is very smooth and responsive, where "PCA" is a little more jerky, yet has screen scaling. How is Multiplicity with sound card issues, does it bring remote sound to the client Computer, or leave it at the Host? I ask this because These "Terminal Server" type applications make for great remote controls to MP3' and Media Type Servers around the house. Does Multiplicity allow for Screen Resolutions matching, scaling, wall and skins? Does it port the client skin to the Host?

Interesting. So you can train others while on your computer. Does the other person on the other computer still have control of their computer?

I guess I am a lot slow today. Up all night working on stuff. I m not sure how this works exactly. You control the other computer remotely... wait, that could work. I will eventually have 2 desktop computers and one laptop. I can have them all on and have them working on different projects.

I think you're missing the point, Multiplicity does not do what RDC and PCanywhere do - it doesn't do host/remote connections. It allows you to keep multiple computers at your desk/workstation but with only ONE mouse and keyboard set - and STILL control the multiple computers.

A home user could keep two computers (two monitors still needed) and say play a CPU intensive game on one computer and have the second computer for just normal home usage - web browsing, email, word processing, etc.

For a business user, this is a revolutionary product in terms of productivity. Set up secondary machines for any person who works on CPU intensive tasks, as soon as the CPU intensive task starts, using Multiplicity would allow them to switch over to the non-CPU tasked computer to continue working...

RDC and PCAnywhere are more for placing multiple computers at one computer's display - meaning screen real estate is being wasted somewhere. Multiplicity gives you extra processing power without losing screen real estate OR desktop real estate. I'm sure there will be a demo/time limited version for you to check out when it's released.

As for myself, I can hardly wait.

Nooooo... When I use Remote Desktop or PCA, I am using the machine and its' resources,with which I am Remoted.
Now you also have the added option of bringing, the sound to your terminal or leaving it at the remote. I handle and manipulate files on my downloading machine every day as well as set it to pvr TV for me. This hardware is not on my Laptop. I burn CD's and DVD's all the time via USB Externals, on one Remote. So how is Multiplicity different? Is is something like a constantly connected RDC, that allows the USER to glide left or right into the RemotesDesktop? I do not understand completely, and the actual information on it's Website isn't totally clear.

It looks like a combination of a Virtual Window Manager and RDC. Also is is configurable for multiple PORTS, so it can be configured to be worked through a router (and PORT Forwarding and Triggering?)

To me it looks like a software KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch except it only switches the KB and mouse between the PCs because they still have their own monitor.

Now that it's identified, my question is why can't I see it on SDC while others can?
