Shortcut for objects

First, Ive been crash coursing for about 8 hours on customizing. I just found this delightful destraction today. Anyways Ive searched the articles, forums and support and cant seem to find any documention on this problem. I can shortcut an object strait to a program easy, np. create object, shortcut it to the specific application program i want and whamoh it works fine. Now. Problem is I use netscape mail, I have to start netscape, then select MAIL. Windows desktop alows me to short cut by doing this (I'm sure your very aware of how, but for this explianation I needed to put this here, not to insult you guys), anyways it looks like this:

"C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape 6\Netscp.exe" -mail

ok, shortcutting in preferences for objects wont let me to do this, so Im missing something. I can't hit my head on my desk any more, please show me the light.

I don't use netscape, so i'm unsure... is your mail a separate program? I'm not positive since I'm still new to this but i think it has to be. I just create an object, then call it a short cut, make it a file short cut, go through the list & if it's not there browse and go find the exe. I use incredimail so it's easy. I just tried with MSN hotmail... the short cut has to be a URL since it's a webpage, opened my browser and came right up. Maybe the same for netscape?

Do you mean the DesktopX opjects, or ObjectDock shortcuts?

Have you tried to insert the '-mail' extension into the 'Arguments' box of both of these programs (right underneath where you insert the short-cut path for your application)? I don't use Netscape, so I can't test this for you, but I though that should work.

Got it, yes you do insert it in the Arguments. However I was trying to do it in DesktopX, I'd select the object then properties. Arguments is not an option in that menu. That was the problem. I had to goto the object and select "Set Target" to get the Argumants option. Works great, thanks.
