Im not sure of what screen your seeing at bootup, but one simple thing to try is to go to your start menu-programs-startup and see if the program that is annoying you is listed in there, if it is, just delete it..it is only a shortcut so you wont be doing any damage..
The next option is using MSConfig from the run command..but that gets a little more tricky and you have to be absolutely sure as to what your looking for...

Try the start up folder thing first and see if that helps..

Good Luck,
Zero.

It's probably showing a splash screen because you're using the free version (so am I). To get rid of it you'll have to buy it.

Double Zero is on the right track. You want to find Object Desktop Smart startup. Remove that from the start up folder and you should be all set. I turned mine off a long time ago so I am not exactly sure how or where I found it. Im pretty sure just removing it from the start up folder was the trick though.

Maybe after a little more coffee I will remember.

Ok, try this...Open Stardock Central, click on tools/ settings/ general/ uncheck Enable smart startup. I think that was how I did it.

I would appreciate if anyone knows what the purpose of smaart startup is? I assume that it serves a purpose (other than branding). Is there an impact to the apps in ODNT if it's off?

Over a year now with smart start up disabled and I havent run into any probs yet. My PC just boots faster.

Isn't there a check box to stop showing the splash screen. I turned mine off a long tme ago as well and don't remember how...but usually there is the option to stop it right on the screen that comes up.

OK...I think NightTrain is on the right track...no pun intended

smart startups are generaly to start some apps faster. On system startup they load some parts of the app so when you want to run it, it starts faster. But it slows down system startup, so its beter to disable it.

I had mine turned off. Then it came back on. I did notice that screen itself says to press esc to not show the screen.

Night Train was correct, i have the purchased version of Object Desktop , i never had a splash screen on the unregistered or registered versions, i think the latest update turned on smart start, turned it off and "voila" , no more splash screen
thanx Night Train
