Trade routes stop working?

Anyone know why my trade routes would stop working? Mini-freighters just sit next to their destination planets, on the trade screen it shows the routes as being on turn 0 with a value of N/A. My other routes to the same empire still work so it's not an embargo. I have most of my routes going to the same 2 planets but in the manual it says thats ok, is the manual wrong? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

it happens to me too, i personally think its because the route is too old or something like that, (run out of turns[you can see smth like 43/203 turns]so it must have been that all 203 turns were gone).
So I just kill that route and open another one. Its the best thing to do.

I reported a problem like this to Cari and sent her a saved game. If you click on the stalled minifreighters, what do they say? In my case they were all mixed up; a minifreghter stalled next to system A, for example, said it was travelling between systems B and C, which were all the way across the map.

iirc the mini-freighters still said they were en-route between the proper 2 systems, Sol and Decius and they said '72 bc' per turn, or whatever they were supposed to make but they don't move and my total trade doesn't include them. I didn't think about them having expired, I thought they were 2 of my newer routes but that is possible since I don't pay all that close of attention to them.
Do the mini-freighters still show on the map if the route has expired? I cleared them out and will just watch closer in the future, if it happens again hopefully I'll know for sure if it's expired.
Thanks for the replies.

Really? Trade routes 'expire'... Humm strange, very strange. Doesn't sound right to me.

A planet flip, an invasion, that produce a display bug sounds more like it. Or they just stop. Also a bug.

ok I watched my routes every turn and it does expire. I figured that must be what the turn counter meant but I didn't realize the counter moved so fast. Anyone else notice the turn counter doesn't work right? It'll stay at the same number on some turns, then go up 3 or 4 on the next. I guess the bug would be that the mini-freighter still shows on the map and continues to travel until it reaches a planet and still claims to be bringing in cash even though it isn't. Once it gets to either end of the route it just sits there.
I'm still pretty new, this is only my 2nd game so forgive the noobishness.

They shouldn't. This is a bug, and has been reported before.

The duration of the route is simply how long it should take for the route to run from one planet to another and back (assuming no speed increasing starbases).

I don't think it's an expiration issue.
In the game I'm playing right now, (v1.20) I currently have three routes which have gone dead at 173, 185 and 299, while there are three active routes will into the 400's.

The counter is just how far (in turns) the mini freighter is out of the time it takes to complete a circuit.

See my response higher up in the thread. When you click on the minifreighter, do you see what I described?

Try posting this problem to the v1.21 and AP v1.51 thread as a bug report.

I have seen this as well.
