We of the Diplomats are looking for more members! All are welcome to join up. The only thing we ask of you is that you remain active. We are an empire of only active members, and those that remain inactive after three months will be removed. Aren't you tired of seeing gigantic empires sitting at the top of the Meta with 50, 100, 150 members, only one or two of which are active? We may grow to that size, but we promise that everyone in the empire is active! We don't want you to feel like you should crank out 60K games, we want you to play what you feel is fun. Our motto is Play For Fun! We determine activity on your posting of two games a month, or simply posting in our forums.

This ought to be interesting alright. My emperor has kicked out a couple of zero scorers back in the day and Bluesteel did run a temporary bout of demotions from senator to normal overlord for lack of activity in the second to last incarnation of ANZAC, but no empire that I can recall has ever booted a score-laden member for being too dormant. Not being evil enough, sure (the Evil Empire, of course), but not for lack of activity. I got nothing against it, though. It might do the Diplomats good. The only danger is that if this measure does not prevent the Diplomats from becoming one of those older, more laid back empires with fewer and fewer active members, it could result in some drastic depopulation over the months as the measure is enforced and becomes a self-perpetuating cycle of doom. So pro-active or a road to doom? Only time will tell, I guess. Yet another interesting thing in the Meta to spy on. I'll be watching.

We would rather be an empire with only two members, than be an empire full of 'baggage'. If this eventualy leads to the end of the Diplomats then so be it. At least we will have died chatting and smiling :)

Too much is read into the activity policy.

Please anybody that may think the Diplomats are asking too much do not worry.

It does not take much to be considered active an occassional post, posting a few games is enough; by Technician standards even this is inactive.

If a member has not posted anything for 6-7 months and nobody heard from this member, the member has moved on. Keeping the member is just hoarding points and gives the illusion the Empire is more active that it really is.

Keeping a players just to save up Metaverse points means nothing. We play the game and participate to have fun.

If any removed member decides to rejoin and start playing again or just participating they will be more that welcome.

when I was emperor of the anzacs I did get rid of ppl at one stage who hadn't posted scores or in the forum in the last 6 months..

I believe that the galaxy map goes by the number of members in the empire as well.. as empires with more players but less score but still in the top ten.. hold a bigger percentage of the map.. Or at least that what it seemed liuke to me.. as at the time the empire was is was more active than others with less members and higher ranked but held ledd of the map than 2-3 other empires..

So to me there is no good reason to delete old players sacores.. (I found out after I had deleted my old players scores)..
