Demanding money on diplomacy screen, how do I tell the code I changed my mind?

The sub-window that has the fill in fields for how much money I want and for how many months also shows how much money the enemy has available. If they have so little that I don't think it is worth my while to demand anything, how do I cancel the sub-window?

Cheers,
Jack

Not sure about the above, but thought my thoughts were relevant to this.

I noticed that you cannot really 'demand' anything...you can 'propose' a lot, and the aliens will just decline...but you cannot really enforce, threaten or demand anything that I have noticed, which really takes away from it all in my opinion. I enjoy playing the bully :)

Influence isn't really implemented yet, but I think that once it is, you'll be able to throw your weight around. :)

What I mean is, it would be nice to have a way of canceling the action from this panel, sort of a "forget about asking for money or influence" button or "close this window" button.

John, perhaps you can just continue asking for it, and remove it from the bottom submenu before asking? (Have not tried this)

Or just remodify the amount you are asking for to zero?

Ian,

That is what I have been doing and I find these methods cumbersum. To achieve the goals Brad has stated for GalCiv I think this is a playability issue that needs to be addressed.
