IP Probs for a Newb

I'm having difficulty with my first IP package. In IconPackager I clicked on View>package builder. I replaced every image with my new icons, saved it as a package (received the option notice "author, e-mail,..."). Then I installed the new package ("install from disk). Everything works and all of my computer icons now have the new images. Now I click on File>zip package, and an IP Theme is created. Now when I upoad this somewhere, and then it is downloaded, there are no images at all visible. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

It may be that the quality is not good enough for they to be shown anywhere but on your computer Sorry SD, not a clue, I just was bored and felt like giving you a bad time

Not sure where you're unloading/downloading to/from, but IP 2.9x and IP 3.0 are using an updated file format that cannot be read by IP 2.5. There is an option when uploading icon packages to WinCustomize to note that it requires IP 3 or later.

IconPackager 3.0 no longer supports Windows 9x platforms.

I tried uploading to skin artistry and to Deviant Art. When I then download, the images are all just the standard Windows icons.

not windows icons. No icons in the package at all

You have the latest...I should have inserted 'when version 3.0 is released'. There was (maybe still is) a problem with the preview images and what not. They're presently making internal fixes for it (the preview problem supposedly was fixed already) as the problems come to light. My guess, since this is still be shaken down, that it's not you, but it. I'd suggest going back to 2.50, but that would be fairly moot considering my comments above.......

I'm not sure I understand you question. I tried uploading just the theme and I tried a zip with the theme and the ICL File both included in the zip. I had the same results both times.

ok, here is something i have noticed when saving ip themes. you will have two files in the directory that ur ip is in, one is a .iptheme or something like that and the other is a .icl file. save them both in a .zip file, upload them with instructions to save both files to th directory that they store their ipthemes. thats all i have to say. i know, u shoulodnt have to do that, but hey, just wait for an update.

Instead of using Iconpackager to do it, zip the file yourself.

First take the .iptheme and the .icl, add them to a zip, then rename that zip to .ip.

Then upload the .ip at the various sites...

That didn't work but I think I got it. I had to click on the option to choose "Windows XP only Package" Think I got it now.

Relative question? Is there a way to create an IP Theme without installing all the icons first?
