Ever since I downloaded the last update I haven't been able to start the game. Here is the SmartException read out. What can I do?

uninstall through game manager, reinstall through game manager.

Works like a charm every time.

Ok I reinstalled the new version and everything and the game still hangs my computer. And Smart Ex. doesn't want to run on my machine anymore. What can I do?

So it doesn't crash, but it just stays at a black screen? Are you connected to the internet when this happens, and does it work if you disconnect to the internet before running Gal Civ?

I've tried being connected and disconnected but neither way works! I've also tried running right from the galciv.exe file instead of using the game manager. So what's next?

Pelase list your hardware:
Video Card (make sure you have the newest drivers)
Sound card
How much Ram
CPU, make and speed
motherboard, chipset
Do you have the newest DirectX 8 version
OS? Windows 2000?

Try running your desktop at 16bit, 1024x768

Also try disabling your sound card, if that doesn't work.

Well, apart from upgrading to Windows XP because ME is evil incarnate, does removing the Intro.bik file work?
