where to put mod files

I'd also like to know that. Also, once a mod is installed, how do you play a game where you might want to play with one or more mods, but not play with a certain mod. I hope I don't have to have several versions of the game installed on my harddrive.

The .event, .ship, .anomaly, .tech, .imp files go into the Galciv /data folder.

The .pcx files goes into Galciv /gfx folder.

This should cover most of the mods.

I believe some modders put readme.txt into their mods with instructions.

If you are talking about major mods such as the Star Wars mod, you need specific instructions from those threads.
