IconX - Apply to file type

Has anyone got the "Apply to file type" to actually work? ... I am thinking there must be a particular way
to enter this in the username.items file in the installation directory. Any idea? ... This doesn't seem to work even in the latest release (1.1) .. things like these are what prevent me from using IconX
