Change desktop icon font color?

In display properties>appearance>advanced>icons, the font color choice is dimmed out. Is there any way to change the desktop icon font color? maybe if i get a program? does anyone know? there must be some way...

IconX does that and much more. You can have the text be different colors depending on mouseover, focus and normal states as well as different fonts and/or sizes. One of the neater things it does is allow you to put graphics around the text as well and it comes with several graphics already installed. Check the software tab at the top of this page or on SDC if you already have Object Desktop.

Not a problem Jebro, it's one of those programs I can't live without. It allows you to change the size of the icons on your desktop as well and I have a very high res Laptop (1920x1200) and I needed to be able to reduce my eye strain.

and you can change you icons without changing your icons.
and it puts thumbnails of pics instead of icons.

I have no icons on my desktop. Everything is in Objectdock and hidden until needed. Anyone care?

How did you get rid of the recycle icon, then? Did you throw itself in the recycle bin?

Right Click on your desktop > arrange icons by > uncheck "show desktop icons"
