TJ Galbraith (AKA Exodius),
Most of the SD people will not be in until Monday, although there is sometimes someone monitoring this forum during the weekend. I am not a Stardock person. I paid for my Drengin.net subscription over a year ago and have been testing GC as a paid subscriber since January this year. If you will communicate more rationally perhaps one of us non-SDers can help. For instance, are you on a dial-up or direct connection? Are you behind a firewall? What operating system are you using? Do you have "chookies" in read only mode? It also seems someone had trouble with something called "aliases" at one point. etc.
Did the DGM (You did install this, did you not? Your answers to Magus on this were not very clear.) ask you for your subscription code and email address the first time you started it? (The email address has to be just like what you used when you ordered GC or Drengin.net, such as "
[email protected]". The subscription code or registration code has to be entered correctly. I just checked my subscription conformation and there are couple of codes scattered within the text, so you have to be sure you have the code that shows as related to your product.)
Did you click on the "show betas" option in the DGM menu? If you ordered only GalCiv you won't see any games unless you do, and then you will only see GalCiv. If you ordered Drengin.net you will see several games, including "Lightweight Ninja", "The Corporate Machine", and "Stellar Frontier". If you turn on "show betas", you will also see "Bugs" and "Galactic Civilizations".
One thing you may want to try is to click on the "user information" button on the lower left of the DGM screen. This will show your user data as you registered it. Pay particular attention to the fields "email" and "serial number". They should match what is on your subscription conformaiton email. If not, you can correct them here and press the "update" button to get it corrected and synchronized.
If you got this far, then something else may have happened. Occasionally we also can't access the GC downloads, usually due to a failure at the server that has the downloads on it. Sometimes the messages are not very specific. Usually when this happens one of the other of us will also have had the problem and can explain what is happening.
