Umm...a bit more information would be nice. What info have you used and how? Have you installed the DGM?

1. Have you downloaded and installed the Drengin Game Manager?

2. Have you put your serial number in the proper location and hit the button to update your subscription info on the Stardock server?

3. On the Options menu of the Drengin Game Manager have you selected "Show Betas" from the menu?

If you have done all of the above and the option to download the GalCiv beta does not appear in the Games menu of the DGM then I suggest you send a message to [email protected] explaining what's going on.

No list of anything for me to use AT ALL =P

Its REALLY upsetting

And we just bought the stardock one not the drengin one =P dont even know what those other games are

Again more information would be nice. This is not a scam, there are quite a few people happily playing the beta of Galactic Civilization.

The Drengin Game Manager is the interface that Stardock uses as an interface to install and play the games.

What other games? Did you buy a subscription to Drengin Net or just GalCiv? If you bought the full subscription to Drengin and are seeing other games in the interface then you should be able to see GalCiv one you select show all Betas.

Take a deep breath and try a bit of patience.

Your messages have been the equivalent of someone standing in the middle of a room and jumping up and down while screaming "I'm not happy!" while providing no further information.

Not exactly the best approach in trying to resolve a problem.

Have you sent a message to Stardock support?
Do you realize that it's early on a Saturday morning?

I'm not connected with Stardock in any way, other than as a satisfied customer and player of their games.

TJ Galbraith (AKA Exodius),

Most of the SD people will not be in until Monday, although there is sometimes someone monitoring this forum during the weekend. I am not a Stardock person. I paid for my Drengin.net subscription over a year ago and have been testing GC as a paid subscriber since January this year. If you will communicate more rationally perhaps one of us non-SDers can help. For instance, are you on a dial-up or direct connection? Are you behind a firewall? What operating system are you using? Do you have "chookies" in read only mode? It also seems someone had trouble with something called "aliases" at one point. etc.

Did the DGM (You did install this, did you not? Your answers to Magus on this were not very clear.) ask you for your subscription code and email address the first time you started it? (The email address has to be just like what you used when you ordered GC or Drengin.net, such as "[email protected]". The subscription code or registration code has to be entered correctly. I just checked my subscription conformation and there are couple of codes scattered within the text, so you have to be sure you have the code that shows as related to your product.)

Did you click on the "show betas" option in the DGM menu? If you ordered only GalCiv you won't see any games unless you do, and then you will only see GalCiv. If you ordered Drengin.net you will see several games, including "Lightweight Ninja", "The Corporate Machine", and "Stellar Frontier". If you turn on "show betas", you will also see "Bugs" and "Galactic Civilizations".

One thing you may want to try is to click on the "user information" button on the lower left of the DGM screen. This will show your user data as you registered it. Pay particular attention to the fields "email" and "serial number". They should match what is on your subscription conformaiton email. If not, you can correct them here and press the "update" button to get it corrected and synchronized.

If you got this far, then something else may have happened. Occasionally we also can't access the GC downloads, usually due to a failure at the server that has the downloads on it. Sometimes the messages are not very specific. Usually when this happens one of the other of us will also have had the problem and can explain what is happening.

Oh one sec

p4 3.06
1 gig pc1066 rdram
Ati Radeon 9700 pro
Audigy 2 platinum
Two 120 gig wd se drives
Internet Sat Connection

It says Registration complete and what not, and the news pops up but nothing else.

Exodius said "... nd the news pops up but nothing else. ".

I have to assume that by ending your narative at this point you did not look at the buttons down the left side of the DGM screen. Did you see the one marked "games"? Did you push it? Even before this, did you look at the menu and click on the "options" item and then click on "show betas"?

The DGM is designed to be somewhat intuitive, but nothing can be totally intuitive, so sometimes you just have to poke around a little.

Then there must be something else blocking your access, so you will have to discuss it with the SD people when they return to work on Monday. The first person I would try to reach would be Patrick Ford whose e-mail Address is [email protected] - If you wish to send him a note. Sending a note to him may save only a few minutes before he gets back to you as I am sure that Cari, Scott, or Brad will make sure that he sees this thread.

Whats the point =P

Two days to use something I just paid for. The guy who owns this house is a federal law enforcement officer and the moment he gets back in he will learn of this foul incident played against me.

Do you have to re-enter your serial number each time you start the DGM? This happened to me when I bought it, and it was because I typed in my serial number in lower case... I had to delete it from my registry and put it in as upper case...

and from what im getting im not being blocked =P

When i do the registration up it says registration complete and what not (so it seems good).

I get all channels excluding Chat/Games. Besides that all else seems ok. The beta show is visible and everything.

Your right. You got scammed. All the people on this forum are making everything up. What's the matter with you? Oh, I don't want to wait for some tech support so I'm going to go whine to a federal law enforcement officer. boo fricken hoo. I had to wait 5 days when I couldn't figure it out. Keep your pants on and suck it up.

Wyrenn,

I tried to look up Exodius in the dictionary and the closest I got was "exodium" which referred me to "Exode: ... 1: The comic afterpeace in the ancient Roman theater : Farce, Tradegy". So perhaps the joke is on us. Could "Exodius", with all of his/her tantrums, be trying to scam us? If not, I hopes he understand just how suspicios his/her actions and threats are and will step into OUR shoes for a change and understand that 1). We, while not from SD, tried to help as best we could, 2) has the patience to get his/her problem resolved, regardless of the cause, hopefully by getting help directly from Stardock via E-mail like was suggested earlier.

Wyrenn:

What you said about having to re enter the serial your right. But im copy and pasting the EXACT Serial Number (the way it was sent in an email)

Still no luck
Did you do that the first time? You have to go into your registry and delete the serial number and re-enter it... or at least that's what I did... try it and see if it works.

Exodius : actually, you did pay for beta testing the game, as the game is not out yet. You may be running into a bug. How can it be considered as strange, as beta test is obviously the period where bug are corrected ?

I hope SD will correct the bug that prevent you from dl in the next few monthes. Thank you for participating.

And i never threatened anyone =P

Im just saying the dude who paid for it is a federal law enforcement officer =P (he also owns this house)

No threats =P I just want the game thats all. They must have some other method of downloading something.

And no its not a tauntrum =P i just dont like paying for something and not getting it when im suppose to get it. Its almost like paying for my internet sat then after paying the 200 install, 100 per month, and 500 for equipment and not getting the service at all =P MAYBE their server was down. And the main reason I was upset was because here was no NUMBER for me to call and check. THATS whats upsetting =P If you knew how bad I wanted to play this game youd understand!!!

No threats or anything I was just upset at the time.

If all else fails, delete DGM and reinstall it and start over... but don't forget the registry! If it's wrong in the registry it doesn't matter what you do it won't work.
I understand that part of it... when I couldn't get it working I'll admit I was a bit miffed... but SD support is (usually) pretty quick and they figured out my problem for me and now I'm destroying aliens left and right...

And again sorry REALLY bad day (just one of those days nothing works =P) Did a bid on ebay for a new plasma screen and turns out the guy has NONE LEFT ATM and i had already paid him. He said i WILL HAVE TO WAIT 1 month =P nearly $6000 US and im suppose to just WAIT??

Just a lil mix of things =P
Now THAT sucks. Although I have a rule for myself... don't trust anyone on eBay. I would never pay more than $100 bucks over the internet...
