Number of troops on Stealth/Zoom Transports

Looking at the numbers of troops carried by the AI transports, is steadily reaching into the realm of the absurd- I'm regularly seeing figures in the 14,000,000,000 range; and once, a 20 billion load of troops being moved. And these transport beasts are usually moving at speeds of 5, 6, and 7. Exactly how big are these monsters?
Doing a few calculations: assuming 180 lb. soldier with 50 pounds of equipment (yes, I know its low), gives a figure of 230 lbs. and lets posit 200 pounds of provisions, water, and ancillary items for each soldier; though not including sleeping quarters, heavy equipment, medical supplies, crew of the ship, fuel, structure, etc.
IIRC a ton requires about 40 cu. feet of space to ship- so 14 billion troops clocking in at 430 pounds= some absurd number of zeroes divided by 2000, times 40 cu. feet is equal to 481,600,000,000,000,000 Square Feet or 17,274,992,000 Square Miles. Now our sun is determined to be 1,392,000 kilometers in diameter, which is 864,988.8 Miles which seems kinda of low in comparison to the 17 billion sq. mile figure posted above; even if one was to cut the cubic foot requirement in half (basically everyone stands), we have 8.5 billion square mile ship? Now factor structure, engines, armor, fuel, weapons, defensive systems, comm, nav and detection systems, exactly how big is this thing? And why does overcoming inertia to just get this thing moving not shred it to pieces, much less attaining speed seven! And how do you slow it down once it gets moving?
I think it would implode under its own weight, much less actually move; or God forbid someone actually sneezed, the whole thing would probably spin out of control. Frankly, if the tech was available to move something that big, why don't you just start moving complete planets? I'm sorry, but the suspension of disbelief is getting a bit much here.
Shipping out 50% or more of a planets population as soldiers, is a bit of a stretch here as well. Don't remember the exact figures or ratios, but WWII Germany mobilized upwards, during the entire war, aprox. 10-20% of her population as combatants and lost the war as a result. She literally broke the bank on over-mobilization and it still wasnt' enough; and no amount of women, guest/slave/pow workers could overcome this; France came fairly close to this in WWI as well. I have all those stats lurking somewhere. You really need to implement a 'soldiering' system here of some sort- for just packing up every male, female, and child and dumping them on another planet as soldiers (bodies) is a bit beyond the stretch as well.
