Frogboy: It sort of depends on how the Rings of Power [ROP] are being implemented. Are they the sort of thing any player could have mid-game? Also, would each ROP be an IWIN button vs. a given DG, or would direct counters exist? Finally, have the devs actually played a build with ROP or is it just a theoretical at this point?
I just can't wait to see if: A:) They expire. B:) Max summonable at a time.
They don't expire. They're there until they're killed. There are limits to how many you can summon at a time based on the type of minion you've purchased (there's no limit to the # of unique minions you can bring in but the generic minions have limits).
You don't control the reinforcements. Generals control THEIR own personal army that they can purchase from the shop (3 types there) as well as their own unique minions that they can summon.
When Beta 2 hits, all pre-order players will have access.
For those of you who have been in the Demigod beta so far, the thing to remember is that that build has been a mere engine test. Beta 2 is where the real game mechanics come in. The actual "fun" part of the game really starts to show up. Generals, upgradable Citadels, strategic objectives, etc. It should also be the first big availability of ImpulseReactor's "cloud" multiplayer (if it works right, it should make getting games going a snap). We're hoping to get this o
Yea, beta 2 is the BIG beta. Beta 1 is just the engine test.
There are only 3 types of generic minions. Each general also gets its own unique minions.
We won't be adding new beta testers until beta 2.
The graphics will be 100X better in the final version.
64-bit not only supported but there WILL (as in, it's a design requirement) be a NATIVE 64-bit version.
Elemental announced!
My guess is before Thanksgiving. :)
I think everything that can be said on the topic has been said. The Demigod beta is not a demo or a shareware program. A person who pre-orders the game gains access to the beta. A user who pre-orders can cancel their order at any time for a full refund prior to actually getting the game. Someone who pre-orders the game, installs Impulse, downloads the game, installs the game, plays the game is certainly not just a person who pre-ordered the game. They are trying
Sorry I haven't gotten into this sooner but been extremely busy. Just to state official policy on the matter: (same policy we had with Sins of a Solar Empire, GalCiv II, GalCiv I, Object Desktop, etc.) IF you don't download the beta, you can cancel it at any time for a full refund. The system knows if you have downloaded the game to your account. IF you have downloaded the beta, then at that point, you've gone beyond merely pre-ordering it. The betas are not desi
Good feedback!
Damn no wonder. Impulse doesn't refresh when you are on My Games page, even if you click and unclick the game. Oh well it'd take my meager 2Mb broadband 3 hours to download the update.
You have to hit F5 or choose check for updates.
It took me, on my uber shitty satellite connection, less than five seconds from reading to find a 1.1 beta torrent of Sins. I wont hold it against TPB for not having a new beta version of an expansion for a game over two years old
I am not surprised that you, psychoak, were able to find torrents easily. However, just because you're into the hardcore warez scene doesn't mean the average person is. I follow the warez sites fairly closely and *I* could not find
My statement in the context of the interview had to do with competitive play. The only area we're going to actively block modding is in the area of ranked games. Everything else people can go nuts. But we're not supporting it, certainly not for release anyway. All our time is spent focusing on getting the game done. After release, we can take a breath and see where we are.
the activation limit is more than 3 and more than 5 even. it's very high. Usually when this happens it's due to a computer glitch where it's activating hundreds of times.
Rather than "nerf" the rook, why not make the others more powerful?
Beta 1: 2/5 at best.
No NDA. The idea is that if we're not doing a good job, you're free to flame us publicly. :)
WOW! Thanks guys. We're thrilled that you like it at this stage. It's going to get a LOOOTTT better. I mean, right now, there's only a couple of Demigods in, they don't hvae many abilities yet, there's no strategic points in, only 1 map, no generals, hardly any items in, etc. Mike and I were just chatting seconds ago about ideas for new abilities, items, etc. Reading all the great ideas is helping a great deal. We're going to have a blast in the c
You should satasfy the people who think that Beta 1 will be SUPER AWESOME FUN; but you shouldn't say people who enjoy it "should seek help". A lot of people have fun staring at text compiliers and finding errors with the program .
But that actually is fun.
I run it on my 7950 just fine. It should also run fine on a Geforce 6 series card just fine too. If there's graphics corruption, it's something else, something video related anyway.
