See, here's what's funny about that analogy. Copernicus, or Galileo, or whatever persecuted/vindicated genius you'd like to assess, was pitting *repeatable observations* against an established faith-based ideology. Back in the day established ideology won, short-term, because repeatable observations weren't yet en vogue.
Wait wait wait. Are you suggesting that AGW is a repeatable, observable phenomenon? Since when? As the CRU said them
This is NASA, guys. You really think they are being blinded by a liberal pinko bias?
This isn't about liberals or conservatives. It's the amount of confidence one puts in a handful of scientists who are doing the actual leg work for this stuff and right now, it's looking like it's pretty sloppy. It is whether we accept that the current PPM of CO2 in the atmosphere is sufficient to alter the earth's temperature measurably. And on that, it's conjecture.
Not yet debunked but no doubt will be soon.
I look forward to seeing the "debunking". Most of the "debunking" you get on left-wing sites like RealClimate.org really wrest on one person's opinion versus another. In the case of what we have here: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/12/08/the-smoking-gun-at-darwin-zero/ This is pretty serious. If the raw temperature data is being monkeyed with like this, then it casts doubt on the whole movem
This is what's confusing me. I'd thought quests were something we would do, but the Journal implies that it would be NPCs doing these things. But now Frogboy's latest post implies it would be us doing it. So confused...
They are quests all players would be doing. You, as the human player. AI players. And NPCs.
If you can't acknowledge even the most minimal point someone else makes how can you ever expect anyone to grant any point you happen to make. Excepting of course all of the people that already agree with you.
You reposted a chart from a website that I have repeatedly said is not a site I consider trustworthy and have given reasons why. You also seem to be under the impression that I'm trying to persuade you of something. I'm not. I don't care whether
As Frogboy's major inspiration is Master of Magic, in MoM the spirits or whatever they are called have "Corporeal" as one of their abilities. Meaning, physical weapons do only half their damage against this spiritual creature.
Yes but that's still one type of damage. In code, that's basically an armor that mitigates 50% mundane damage. See, that's why we have to be careful on these journals is because non-coders read too much into this stuff. MOM
The difference is that I don't need your support; I have the weight of the scientific consensus on my side whereas you have organizations like the Cato Institute on your side, and so you definitely need my support.
And here I thought we were talking about science, not popularity contest. Science isn't determined by a vote. That's called politics.
I suppose the opinion is subjective but creationists denying the scientific consensus on evolution seems far more analogous to climate skeptics denying the scientific consensus on AGW instead of the other way around.
No. Because Evolution is a theory. AWG is a hypothesis. Big difference. A theory can be tested. Predictions can be made that come true. AWG hasn't been tested and every prediction thus far as failed. It do
According to GW alarmists we are the problem.
I'm a regular on Treehugger.com and one of the most popular topics is how do we, as a species encourage either our gradual extinction or at the very least, a massive decline in our population to help "the environment". At various times in our planet's history, there have been species that have "polluted" far more than humans have. It's worth pointing out that the free oxygen in out atmosphere is, itself, the result

That's nice. Did you even read the article? As I mentioned previously, I'm a regular on RealClimate and have been since 2005. So I'm already familiar with some of the articles you mentioned. One of the more galling things I find about climatists is their assumption that if you don't agree with them it's due to ignorance. The article I put up is brand new (December 11). I don't need someone regurgitating their library of auto-response links. I've seen

You'll still have fireballs and frost spells and such but they'll do normal types of damage. When we were gameplaying it, it got to be tedious having to manage several different types of damage to counter. It's also important to remember that this isn't an RPG. It's a strategy game. So when thinking of combat, one has to bear that in mind. What is fun in a "party" combat system isn't necessarily fun when trying to run a world spanning empire with dozens of armies in the fi

It's really a contractual thing really. What people don't realize is that many of these companies are really a bunch of different companies. Plus, Impulse is currently only available in English and some publishers require translation of the client to be made available in say Germany or France.

I was thinking that instead of showing win/loss ratios instead show average favor points per game. I was in a game today that I lost but got 125 favor points. I think that might be a better indicator for balance.
On a policy level, however, several of the institutions and organizations which, coincidentally, profess skepticism about global warming share some or all composition, financial structure, and strategy with the tobacco lobby of the last half century. I know that's inconvenient, and it might dip into politics rather than science, but it can't be debated.
I am sure I follow the issue as much as anyone here. No need to have to endure your endless largely unwarranted complaints on the forums. If you have future complaints, address them with official support channels, gnome.

Lol. Relatively speaking, this game is just so much nicer for new players than most games I see. Plus, I wish I could save some of the hilarious in game conversations. I.e. shade: No Easter cards for you. Your'e CUT OFF! :-)

Yea, I sent a note to say "Hurry it up!" The QA line is very long. Though, now I will miss the lawsuits. With a class-action lawsuit, I could have met a lot of new people and get out more. Now I'll miss out.
