I think theres a misunderstanding on mods. The plan is that popular mods would be included with th egame for users to chooes from. Not integrated into official canon. But popula rmods, online will effectively become canon.

Demigod isn't perfect of course. No game is. I have a laundry list of things I want to see changed and with the upcoming modding, I am hoping to see those changes happen. That said, let me tell you why I think Demigod is the best new strategy game of 2009. 1. It has the best game mechanics of any RTS of 2009. The balance between citadel upgrades, flags, and personal items are just wonderful. 2. The fact that it is really easy to learn how to play but that a
With any luck, this weekend I'll have games up that you guys will be able to join and see the new demigods in action. Look for "Frogboy 3 vs. 3" on the game list starting this weekend (or possibly Thursday depending on my schedule).
Well it's not first come first serve. I'll see who else responds by the morning and go from there since it'll be likely a month-long commitment.
The problem is that just about every multiplayer pc game on the market is more stable.
I hate to say this but if you have stability problems with Demigod at this point it's not Demigod. It's your machine. I play with and talk to a LOT of demigod players daily and it's very very rare to find someone who has had problems. In addition, I follow-up with our QA and support people on a regular basis and Demigod is a pretty problem free game. There are
I assume you mean v1.2. But basically, when v1.2 comes out and there's some bug in it they'll get adressed. v1.2 isn't the end of the line.
And no offense, given your track record on buggy stats, connections, etc... I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that something is bugged with the players online count according to your description as well.
Then why did you ask and waste people's time if you had already decided you wouldn't accept the answer?
SD - we all seem to agree that some sort of change should occur. If you are willing to help us out, can you help us understand what sort of change would be cheap for you to make? I get you are running a business, but if it doesn't cost you a dime to help us out, then why don't you? If it does cost you something, then can you slip it in with an update or just explain that you can't make enhancements for us? I'd understand, but I really hate hoping th
Well, but people do show up as "online" in the ImpulseReactor Overlay even though they are not running Demigod (see Charvel1's case for example). I am showing up as online right now in Demigod and Ready To Play, even though I am only logged in to the Forum and not into Impulse itself or Demigod.
What does that have to do with the number of Demigod users online. The Impulse Overlay makes use of the overall friends list syste
Stardock said, a player counts as online if they log in to their Impulse Account via Demigod and respond to a ping every 30 second. However, I think that actually all players are counted that are logged into their Impulse Account via one way or another (possibly even through the forum alone; for example I was shown as online in Ready to Play today, even though Ready to Play was not running and I was only logged in to my Impulse Account via the forum) and have a registered Demigod key i
Go to Impulse. Click register program. enter key.
Just went to renew subscription and saw the 32 bit only deal. No can do. Am running 64 bit on two or my three machines. Am having to change my firewall and a couple other programs to use Windows 7 64 bit but I've already crossed the 64 bit bridge and am not turning back. Send out a notice when 64 bit is ready and I'll check it out again-- but not until. Don't have any idea if your 64 bit versions will be out in one, two or ten months-- doesn't do me much good if I can't use it so I'll
Here's the reason: Ready to Play makes it easy for us to quickly find people to do tests with.
There will only be 1 build of Demigod. The beta process won't split the community because someone with the new demigods can play someone who doesn't. That's part of the test.
Yeah, that's definitely a part of the equation we didn't have. I was under the impression that there was already an existing contract which obligated GPG to continue work for X amount of time.
There is. Sorian and you are saying the same thing which is accurate. GPG signed on to support Demigod for long after release and Stardock is the one paying the cost to provide that support.
Ugh, you need to learn how to make vids using this engine. The bad framerate makes watching this almost painful. Good thing the content makes up for it. [e digicons]:P[/e] Here's what you do: Record at -10 in-game speed, and when you edit that footage on your desktop, speed it up. Voila: you've got a fluid vid at max detail, and it can be done no matter how old and slow your computer is. Sound won't work out, but there was no sound in this vid so that's irre
I like this idea. A lot. Let me think about how it might be implemented.
Ready to play invites get sent out periodically. It's not real time.
I was reading this article and while the title is wrong (that's not peak numbers, I don't think I've actually seen it at less than 1000 other than in the middle of the night). Now, speaking just myself, not Stardock or GPG I have some opinions on this but I don't think all of them are doable. Price Drop would do it. If I had my way, I'd basically give away Demigod with only a few demigods and then let people pay a low amount to get the full thing. However
127..: Consider this your warning. Hateful game titles are not a joke. Our servers. Our rules.
In my day we used to simply accuse better players of hacking the game.
And you arent in any position to say whos welcome,
But I am. Go away and get a life.
Well, at first the only people who will have them will be people from Stardock and GPG. From there, it'll be largely people who volunteer and have Ready to Play set up so that we can get ahold of them to try them out. If you don't already have Ready to Play, sign up on that page with the email your Impulse account is set up on and we'll add you prior to the Demigods being ready for handing out to people.
We'll be here if you have any problems so just post if this doesn't fully solve it -- it should.
