On Diplomacy: I'd like to see you be able to spend Diplomatic Capital for diplomatic actions you have researched. Kind of like spells. Examples: Push your city / empire border out one additional square Sabotage (destroy) a specific city improvement in an enemy city Take over an enemy city Steal an enemy spell (spellbook) Steal all of an enemy resource Force a cease fire Force a war Assassinate

Same issue, I was the race "Krax". http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6734901/Elemental_1279673037.jpg edit: related thread here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/388633
I pre-ordered on the first day this game became available because I already knew the Stardock team was amazing. But even having said that, the beta and interaction with the Stardock folks has been far beyond my (already inflated) expectations.
Loving 3-C so far. But my goodness the monsters ramp up in difficulty fast. The small people are me surrounded by monsters that are way higher level!
I think the pacing is way too fast. For example, I can research cutting weapons and then 4 turns later have superior cutting weapons... so, the original cutting weapons are outdated before I could have even made a unit equipped with them.
[quote who="Icepick" reply="5" id="2685784"]Ok, here is what I found with the favorites thingy, and it was by accident and after much wailing and gnashing of teeth...click ONCE on the star of the spell you want to add, it will highlight for a second and then looks like it deselects, but it does not. Click on another spell and click back on the original one and you will see that it is now the star for the favorites thingy is selected and it is in your favorites. On a side note:
I've tried adding them to my favorites as well and have still had no luck with casting in Tactical battles.
[quote quoting="post"] Beta 3B introduces the skeleton of tactical battles. Here's the basic concept on how they're supposed to work: Your Combat Speed is translated into action points. We do NOT use your Moves per turn stat (that's supposed to represent endurance and it's not subject to change). The current system is, however, far too basic of course. In this thread, we will discuss which aspects of MOM, HOMM, AOW, as well as new concepts you guys
Yeah, they're big..
I think this idea has merit. Right now, it's kind of just waiting for your kid to show up in the city unit list, which seems pretty detached. It would be nice to have a couple "choices" with either explicitly spelled out results, or something hidden under the covers, but either way, it ends up in the Bio/description for the unit. If the final choice could be when the child is mature enough to take part in the adventuring with some kind of not
It's interesting... it seems to put the locations I can find all inside my territory, instead of spacing them all over the world as I research the adventure techs. So, there's a whole lot of dungeons near my cities and few out in the wild.
Some weirder spells Spell Name: Blood Sacrifice Level: Strategic Arcane Knowledge: 12 (medium) Mana: 20 (medium) Shards: No shards Effect: First born child is killed when cast. Caster gains 10 ability points (level ups) permanently. Spell Book: Blood / Life /Death / Souls ? Notes: Child must possess 10 essence to qualify for sacrifice. May only be cast once per sovereign. ------------
I think you come at this with the wrong mindset. Do you not expect food you buy to be of a certain quality and freshness? Do you not expect electronics you buy to be properly shielded as to not interfere with other devices? Do you not expect medical services you receive to be properly suited to your symptoms? This list could be endless. The truth is that there are ALWAYS expectations of quality. The Gamer's Bill of Rights is one opinion of wh
#1 City Improvements I think I would like more city management options that change the very nature of the city. For example, right now, it seems as if each city is essentially the same since they share the resource pool: some gardens, some houses, some defense, some research, some economy... maybe a little specialization in one area. Kind of... boring. I don't know if I like the idea of adjacency, per se. But I do like the idea of specialization. For ex
I know the first beta was supposed to be all paper cuts and lemon juice, so I am just wondering if Beta 2 is supposed to be somewhat fun or just more of the arduous masochism we have been promised up until now.
I apologize since I did not read the whole thread. If any of these have been mentioned before, just consider them seconded (or thirded, etc.) Combat Speed: I like the idea of generic action points ala X-com, MoM, et. al. that may be expended for moves, attacks spells etc. More Combat Speed = more action points. Morale: Morale as stated sounds fine as stated with the exception of certain units which have fixed morale, or immune to morale e
While it wasn't a great game... I always loved the intro to Interstate '76 (yeah, I own it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JCGZFQZkdc But Mechwarrior 2 was probably the best
Rolinard, former royalty but now just an adventurer for hire.
Audane, Adarya and Myrianna: three female mages, who, while being good souls, eager adventurers and more than willing to mix it up if needed in order to come to the aid of friends, never quite managed to understand proper timing, or choice when it came to casting one of their available spells. Any of the three would be as likely as not to cast a poison gas cloud in a small chamber, fireball at point blank range or lightning bolts while standing ankle deep in wate
I pre-ordered this at the same time that I pre-ordered Demi-God (read: quite some time ago). But I don't see anywhere in my account settings or anything that it acknowledges my pre-order. Is there a way to see that information? Or is it just one of those situations where I should take it on faith that somewhere the computers remember?
