One ship having the power to bomb a planet would not be a good addition to this game. Could it happen in reality? Sure. But is it impossible to balance in a game like this? Yes. To be just slightly feasible, it would have to be extremely expensive, and take a lot of time and power. If you feel like invading every planet is too much work (weren't you playing this game for fun in the first place?) then try smaller maps, or going for other victories. I play on medium mostly, and my games are not dr

In an earlier post about this, I recall that it was concluded that Intel graphic controllers did not show the lights- mine aren't there, and no settings have brought them to the game. I guess it's just a card issue, I'm not really sure why they don't show up.

B) They don't even form fleets in each of their systems! WTF? Each planet has to have an Orbital Fleet Manager for the ships to defend in a fleet. Most of the time by mid-late game almost all AI planets have these. I never build them, it is a waste of a tile and without one, it takes more time to break through a planet's defenses. So I understand

Most of the time when I see an AI starbase destroyed that AI has a constructor on its way to build another. It's just the matter of another race grabbing the resource before that AI can, and whether or not that constructor is destroyed.

say it's gotta be in overlapping influence spheres from 3+ friendly planets I don't think this is the best way to limit them because one of the main things I would use this starbase for is building ships where I don't have planets that can build ships. Requiring that planets surround the base more or less defeats the point.

I go with beam weapons, just because they look cool. I never build ships bigger than medium, the Large/Huge hull techs really aren't worth it when my meduim ships are winning all the time, even if the AI is churning out battleships.

I think that when you are not using social production, and it's being shifted to military production, the game reads your social production on that planet as zero, because all improvements that you select (but do not double-click to build) will say never.

In my current game, I have built a mining starbase on the edge of the bottom-right side of the map. Everytime I load the game, EVERY single ship of mine on autopilot changes its destination to this starbase. So after every load, I have 10 ships and fleets heading toward this starbase, and I have to redirect them all. Not only do my ships head there after loading the game, I have seen both Altarian and Thalan (two of three major races left) send war fleets towards it as well. Both races have arou

I also would much rather have an interesting, jumbled tech tree because it's more fun. I was planning on making one, but since techs can only have one requirement, I'll have to do some re-thinking.

Details? Debug file? Try setting each AI difficulty individually. And, if the tech tree moves too fast for you, you could lower tech speed (in the galaxy creation screen.)
