Locamama, Can you actually fail a personality test? wow, that is a great one! Of course if your applying for certain jobs, I could understand it, but I would also want to know up front what was being considered on a personality test and why it *might* disqualify me and if so, then perhaps I would not have wanted that job anyhow. Of course isn't the interview itself sort of a test to determine if your personality fits in with who y
Maybe one day I will try a submission, but right now I have a good friend of mine going through the process right now... exciting stuff from Michigan!
I know there are not a lot of Game Devs on here and most are probably from Stardock, but what do you use for Software Requirements Development? My company, Link , which I am newly (4 months ago) switched over to work as a Software Engineer doesn't quite have an explicit method by which Software Requirements are done. Yes, we do th
A good friend of mine, Scott Dunham, just wrote an excellent article about the state of the Game Industry in Michigan. so here it is: Link
So the underhanded Bank of America just decided to jack me around and up my interest rate to 24.99% from something like 14% and I was a pretty good customer for a year. Something like take it or leave it... well, I will NEVER do business with Bank of America again. some others (and I know there were more, but I forgot them and cannot find the pa
Of course the article means we are expanding and it is through this method, but what does that mean from a business financial standpoint for our future? What are some of your experiences with this and what other companies have done when they have announced this? Here is a snippet from the linked article... Thanks, Rich "Orion, M

Saft, which is a French company will be supplying Lion Batteries to BAE Systems, which is one the biggest Miliatry Contractors out there to the US. I believe my company had bid on the project, but I have no idea really as I am not involved with either the bidding process
Well, I wish I got the pay that went with being a rock star! It is one of the reasons I joined Cobasys back in 2001 (at the time Ovonic Battery Company). It was to work with new technology and be part of something that can help humanity as a whole. I could also at the time, honestly say I was one of probably less than 1000 people in the world working on t
So I am following this discussion over at Link , which a coworker showed me and I was wondering if anyone else out there, not from that site, thinks it is a conspiracy or not.
Seems a lot of people might be having issues getting thier podcasts listed on the new beta test of Digg's Podcasts... especially those using Feedburner. Here is a work around you can try if you also have Libsyn. Make work for others as well... haha, well I just tried submitting my site address... M

With the debate for Governor of Michigan last night, this morning's news article highlighting a new Hybrid Energy Development center in Troy, MI will really help Granholm out. As one of the few American owned, operated and manufactured in the good ole US of A, Cobasys stands out as an achievement in Michigan. I joined the Ovonic Battery Company, when there
This comment from an email list I am on intrigued me: I would highly recommend "Broadsword and Singlestick" to anyone with an interest in the gentlemanly arts of self defence as they were practiced during the late Victorian era. Is there such a thing as a modern (might vary by country) gentlemanly art of self defense? Or h
Check out this site, which has a list of questions for your particular development environment. They can be used by the interviewee or the interviewer as a way to get the job or narrow down the candidates. In the end, hopefully it is your personality and abilites verse memorization that gets you the job, but it doesn't hurt to have these memorized or well kn
When I say a Screencast, vlogging, vidcast, I am refering to the use of a RSS feed to produce a podcast using video. I have been bouncing around a LOT lately about doing some sort of Screencast of some sort related to my daily job functions. As such, this Linux Blog has a bit about video recording on Ubuntu and there are comments on the variety of wa

Many Empyrean, that is funny! Sad, but funny. Yes, it could have been much worse, like No118 said, they could have won.
Well, not only do they waste time and tax payer dollars writing legislation that sucks, but then we have to pay again. The state of Illinois passed a law related to video games and when it is declared unconstitutional, the tax payers (State of Illinois) then has to pay for the legal fees associated with combatting this stupid unconstitutional law.
I enjoyed this National Sciene Geographic (NSG) TV show from a sceintific perspective.
