1. Evolution and "Intelligent Design" or not conflicting theories in any way. "Intelligent Desgin" seeks to explain how the univers was created while Evolution seeks to prove the evolution of species when the earth was created. How can the 2 supposedly conflict when they explain different solutions for different problems? 2. Their are a variety of theories that are never explained in schools. It would be wierd to cover the "Scientoligist Theo

Foreign Aide is one thing I would like to see cut down. I think we should reporute a portion of Saddam's fortune into the American Government so as to contribute to the national debt. Also government supported Museums/Art Institutes should be limited in funding. I can't think of much at the current moment. A big blanket spending bill might be the easiest approach.

" Tell us where morality comes from if not from a beleif?" Beleif is one of the many ingredients that can influence morality. Personal Opinion, Law, Others and divine inspiration are all sources of personal moral standards. It is safe to say that the moral standard of Christian from Massachusettes may have a whole different standard from one in Virginia. Just because people share a simalair beleif does not mean they hold people to the same mor

Insightful from me. I thought this article was really good. You show that even though War is usually started from the unjustice, moral blindness, and human error it teaches us good lessons and sometimes it prevents even more loss of life. It can hardly be argued that there is no benefits from war although wether these benefits outweigh human life is debatable. Then again there is also the question of what people and countries earn from the spo

Karl Rove seems to beleive that it was the Kerry portrait as a Flip-Flopper., "WASHINGTON (AP) - Reflecting on how he delivered President Bush his second term, White House political adviser Karl Rove admitted Sunday that John Kerry's vote for, then against, funding in Iraq and Afghanistan was the ``gift that kept on giving.'' The deft strategy of Rove, whom Bush calls the architect of hi

" Hell, the only way to stop the abuse of benefits would be to remove the benefits." This is true. I would support this action or several other ones. 1.Stopping government from using the term marriage altogether and applying the term civil union to all these government recognized unions(heterosexual or homosexual). (Probably the most sensible opinion IMO) 2. Civil Unions For Gays. Marriage for Straights. (Though I really don't se

"Well, there could be a ceiling on the benefits. Besides, why is gay marriage in the government's best interests?" Because it would mean equal rights for the 2 types of relationships? Iff there was a ceiling on benefits in a way that polygamy could not be easily abused then it would be equal to these 2 relationships then I would consider it ok for the government to recognize this. I still can't see why government doesn't just stop u

I thought you were trying to tell me that this US Constituitional amendment put it back in states hands? "Good morning. Eight years ago, Congress passed, and President Clinton signed, the Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage for purposes of federal law as the legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife." Whoever said I supported Clinton? Were you trying to make a point by telling me a Democrat signed a Law

"The amendment has nothing to do with gay marriages. It's to keep the federal government out of it and let the states handle it! You really should read more." How does an amendment to the US Constituion stating that "Marriage is Between Man and Woman" hand it off to the states? It prevents them from redefining marriage state by state. Amendments to state constituitions is not a problem but to tamp

"You think there is no love between aniamls?!' There is. Just not in a "lion pack" or "wolf pack " nessecarily. It could be very well and emotionless coopartation in the fight for survival. But emotion between man and animal sounds pretty much impossible to me. This is because there are 2 different thinking patterns and emotional feelings without a bridge to translate one into the other.

"So why eos it has to be between two individuals and not three or four or five? People used to marry multiple wives, it isn't like it wasn't accepted. " Who said I wouldn't recognize them? Who said I had to or shouldn't? As an idividual there will be some who will do so and some who won't? Anyway it wouldn't be in the government's best interests because the system would be easily abused so that many wives would mean more benefits.

"D) How fair is it to say that gay people are allowed to marry but noone else is?(not incest, beastiality, etc.) Both use the same exact arguements, who are you to judge the man who is getting married to his dog? After all: Marriage is a special union between 2 individuals and their God." A dog can not consent or show feelings. No animal has shown the ability to comprehend the union and therefore it isn't between the individual and a partn

"But that is my point, heterosexual couples want to be called marriage. They don't want to be called civil union. " They can call themselves married. I am not say regulate the word. They can call themselves married all they want. What I am saying is regulate the use of the word when a government recognizes these unions. They should recognize them all as civil unions(heterosexual or homosexual) rather then part of the population as marriage and

Let's face it both sides our accuse of having their extremists who narrowmindedly persecute others. Some scream louder then others, some seem more intelligent then others but let's face it the extremists on both sides are narrowminded and have taken hold of the media and turned it into PoliMedia. While the Libertarian Party is the party of my choice the fact is that they are a 3rd Party that is seldom heard of till around election time. I beleive that while the Libertarian Party stances present more benefits to Americans it will not break through the 2 party system until it has garnered enough poularity, media bias, and money which may be around 2020 if they are lucky. I have no problem with granting them civil unions to them that have the same rights... but honestly what's the point. To protect the meaning of marriage? Then why don't you solve the whole problem all together by stopping government from using the term marriage and

Liberal. You must be joking. Anti-Bush maybe but definetly not a gun stealing, reverse racist, socialist, flip-flopping liberal. Heck I don't even hate Bush for the same reasons Mike Moore does. I think anyone who spends many dollars of taxpayer's money and citizens on what Americans define as a poorly going war or operation should have that negative coverage and more for not being a good strategist.
