It seems odd to me that the operating system is failing to create sockets. That shouldn't be happening :) Though I guess most of my experience is only with TCP socket communication. On a side note - its pretty sad that we still depend on NAT when vIP6 could allow for some much better solutions. (Everyone gets an IP address! :) )

I'm going to try to be a little computer-sciency here with a discussion. First off I am making two assumptions here that could be completely false - so a dev could come in here and completely destroy my points. Assumption #1: The NAT Negotiation server is getting bogged down and having a hard time processing all the requests in a reasonable amount of time. Assumption #2: Every connection between two players goes through the NAT Negotiation server. Ok with t

I've had this issue with every demigod at level 20, not just Vampire Lord. I was playing a single-player tournament game on hard last night, and at the end all the AI demigods end up 'evading' tons of my attacks. I'm not sure if that's just an AI thing that happens when they cap out on level on the hard difficulty, or if they all purchased some item that is giving them amazing evade chances. Also their hitpoints regenerate at an amazing rate as well.

Great idea, I'd recommend allowing it to go through even with 0 help. Make it so the player needs 1200g in 'inventory' to be able to purchase the 1200 gold upgrade. Then have it put up pop'ups on everyone's screen. Then anyone who agrees throws in their share, and the original purchaser pays the remainder. So technically they could all say no, and he pays the full price. The pop-up window could have two options 1. Pay your share (for 3 players, its 1/3.

Do what I do. Refuse to buy games from Gamestop. They've turned into a shady pawn-shop, who's only inventory consists of pre-orders and used games. They will also sell you opened display copies as new, and apparently break street-dates. Order it online, Save printing, shipping and labor costs, and give more profit to the developer so they can make you more games that you enjoy. And never worry about having to dig up the CD to install it.

You could have been playing this game a looonnnggg time ago if you had pre-ordered and helped with the beta. Now you have to wait for the *actual* ship date. I really don't have any sympathy. Gamestop fucked up royally. It's not Stardocks responsibility to release the game earlier than intended because some jerk or dumbass screwed them over. This release was planned out. You do realize that the a majority of the multiplayer portion, and 0-day patch aren't e

I do think its kind of interesting that this game is always displayed in extreme close up for its trailers/screenshots/advertisements. When in reality, you rarely play the game at that scale :) Though I guees up close is more sexy.
There is an easy solution to this problem. Play more maps...
And the problem with this solution is that it depends heavily on the nature of your player base. If you start up a match on an unfavored map, and no one joins - how likely are you to recreate it with the same map again? If you want to play a quick game and get it started as soon as possible, which map will you choose?

I wanted to comment on the variety of maps you guys are making for this game. First off I think its great that you are providing different scales. Sometimes you just want to have a 2v2, and others, you have a large group and want to duke it out across a 5v5 map Each arena also provides a unique backdrop and set of 'creep lanes' that makes each map play out differently. However - what I am concerned about is, the inevitable favorites that make the unfavored maps a was

I would have to agree with the two repliers. I think its beneficial to have some short cooldown spells where the only real limiting reagant is the mana pool. Heck, for some more variety in gameplay, you could even lower the cooldown further, along with their damage / mana cost. This would provide the players with more options, more of the time.
I've also noticed a delay in text box entry. The letters appear with a slight delay after hitting the keys. Makes it feel somewhat unresponsive. Yah one point that's worth making, is that this dynamic could change considerably if there was a demigod in each lane. Would the Queen be able to push the lane down that easily with a human player defending? It's a little hard doing hero balance with the extreme difficulty of creating multiplayer games at the moment.

Playing a game today, managed to get 2 additional players in on the game. So we had a 2v1 with AI to fill it out making it 3v3. From this screenshot you can see that the ping of the player Mooglepies is being placed on the Team of Light's AI player, instead of himself.

The first game I host online will host on port 6073 or whatever the default is. If I try to remake the game, it always hosts at port 0. Players can see the game on the list, but it will not connect. If I shut down Demigod and restart, I can successfully host a single game again.

I had the game hard-hang on me during an online match today. Unfortunately I can't get any sort of data log for you. The game locked up with the typical repeating sound looping in the background. Had to hit the reset button on the computer to remedy it (nothing else responded). Its worth mentioning that it happened about 20 minutes into the game, and I never had a crash/lockup with the previous versions. Heres my DXDiag info. ----------------- Sy
