AA Reg almost has to take Swift Anklets I think. You dont have mines to put in between you and your opponent to defend yourself. And even if you have Blood of the Fallen, you are still going to get chewed up fast since you are still not going to have enough health to stand up to most DGs. Your only defense is speed. Its a really REALLY bad idea to allow the possibility of being slower than opposing DGs even before getting hit with slow skills as Reg if you dont have
I was going to reply to this saying Snipe isn't really any good... but compared to enhanced attributes, I can't see not taking it. And heck, Angelic fury is so much better than Attributes it isn't even funny.
1 point in Snipe is a great deal. Its a nice amount of long range damage early on, and its very annoying to opponents on most maps. But its main source of value is getting you extra gold. You should be getting so many cheap assists

Yeah, I've never tried this, but I can see how it would be extremely effective if you have teammates who know what they are doing. My normal build would get completely dominated by this build because its a perfect counter to what I normally like to do. I think that I'd sneak 1 point of Snipe in there somewhere though. Its just too good a source of gold in getting you cheap assists from across the map (and although the damage drops off quickly as the game goes on, it still
Who can afford a mageslayer at level 10? I understand that you get nice chunks of gold for killing towers, but even then, unless you skimp out on other stuff or sell everything, I can't see getting mageslayer that early.
In most games (75%+) I have it by level 11. If the other team has a bad player I have it by level 8. I'm very good at exchanging kills (if you are playing an AA build this is an important skill IMO - you need money more badly than your oppon
Personally, I'd rather have an AA w/shrapnel mines reg, so my foes can't flee as effectively.
By the time you get to shranel mines, you are very close to the late game (level 10, by which an AA reg usually has or will soon be getting a Mageslayer, which is when the build becomes very strong) which is when the AA build starts to shine and the mines build starts to drop off. So I just dont get this argument.
I disagree here. Using abilities consumes mana, managing mana complicates item purchasing, balancing item purchases against upgrades is a team dynamic. So there's one element of complexity that's removed. Managing cooldowns, picking whether to creep faster, harass a high HP target, or wait to use it until a kill opportunity comes up is more complex than just right clicking on the fly. It requires more planning. AA builds are simple, ridiculously so. The build
since the mark has a really quick cast time (if not instant) and really stops your opponents (-60% on max level) it is a really usefull skill, i always use it when i play as regulus (but i don't use the passive slowing effect i find it not usefull enough for the cost of 1 skill point)
Also, you get MoB 5 levels sooner than you get the slow from mines.

Yeah, tower killing is overrated early in the game anyway. Its not a very effecient use of time compared to farming and flagging. Do exactly what the other guy suggested - farm it up, flag it up, and come back at them with a level and war score advantage. Even if they are capping your side portal, its not a big deal. The creeps wont do much until they get to catas and they are denying themselves yet more xp and gold by not having creeps to kill.

Give me a mine Reg ally over a stats build ally any day of the week.
Uh no, not at all. Auto attack reg's main goal through most of the game is to support a player that can take more damage. Pair up with something like an oak, sit back a bit, and grind away. You dont have much burst damage, but you have superb damage over time.&nbsp

And it does 550 at the edge of its range and more beyond. I'm not suggesting that you ever point blank Snipe. Thats just silly. I'm suggesting that you hit them with a Snipe from a long ways away prior to moving in. The usual situation is that you see them capping one of your flags or near some creeps, you peg them with a Snipe from a ways away, move in, hit them with a MoB, and pound away.
Mines can be avoided? Yeah, if the Regulus is dumb enough not to throw them on you... Snipe is nice but it's not a 1v1 skill. Angelic fury is nice but it's not a 1v1 skill either. Snipe is good for people who are running, that's all. But you must've done enough damage in the first place to get them to run. And angelic fury doesn't get good till late game when your attack speed's high and you at least have a mage slayer/ashkandor. Mark of the betrayer is a must, too. <br

As somebody said, the main problem is that Reg is bad at Domination games. Its just not going to be holding flags against many DGs for most of the game. But TB really shouldnt be a problem for Reg. I LOVE facing TBs as Reg. One thing to say right away is that you arent a 1v1 DG, especially early in the game. Really you dont want to be fighting 1v1 vs much until at least the midgame. Your strength is sitting back and doing damage while some other DG on y

I think that the reason the stats dont make any sense at all is that in some ways certain types of wins (like over AIs and whatnot) are recorded and count and in others they dont. You can see this pretty clearly when you actually look closely at records of players. Take the current #3 on the Custom rankings, razattack1337. He is 129-0 despite having a longest losing streak of 3 games. Anyway, I think its pretty clear that records and experience are completely meani

OK, this is a bad suggestion. The main point of Snipe is to harass your enemy. Do some damage to him to either force him to make crystal runs every once in a while or be less aggressive because he has less hitpoints. Frankly, it gives the Reg something to do early game since you cant stand up to many DGs early on (Reg being a poor early game DG). If you take away the ability of Snipe to harass, its basically a useless skill. Against players who are any good at al

And auto-attack with ooze? What counters that? Items that contain crits. As a Reg, towards late game, crits, mines, and MotB chew up a UB with ooze. Certain Oaks can chew me up even with ooze. Too many people are stating that too
I said that all those demigods are more difficult to kill and a greater threat to your fortress than Unclean Beast. That's absolutely true. I would guess that you missed my point because you're the kind of player who only thinks about whether or not you can kill the enemy Demigod or not. That's not what I'm talking about. Many games come down to who is able to penetrate the other team's base properly and those demigods are better at it than the Unclean Beast. And don't under
The reason you see a lot of Unclean Beast is because he's the easiest Dark side demigod to learn. Torchbearer is much harder since he's dual form and fairly fragile.Queen of Thorns is also dual form and has trouble killing other demigods. Erebus is probably the next easiest Dark side god and he's a general with all kinds of considerations. By comparison Unclean Beast is extremely simple and easy to use. At high level

This way a DG would still be able to customize itself, but not really stack 3 +HP/Armor chestpieces. Its not really a problem, because any DG can do it. I know my Rook usually has 8k+ mid game (level 15 or so) because of items. I tend to not use towers much, so I dont need mana much either.
Not every DG

I think the point is that most "Generals" (ie not QoT) are AT LEAST as good of assassins as the Assassins (and better in many cases) AND they can also be effective generals if they want. I'd like to see the Assassins buffed a little bit overall (with the exception of UB, which is already good enough and plays exactly like an assassin should), the assassin abilities on Generals nerfed substantially, and the minion stuff on Generals buffed a little bit. Its just frustrating that t

Heaven's Wrath is an Assassin only favor item. It only does 250 damage, so it shouldnt be hurting you that much. I'm guessing that he was using a Univeral Gadget, which is a consumable that does 650. In principle, it should be very powerful combined with Snipe in the early game, although I havent seen anybody actually try that strategy and do well (I've seen it done badly a few times) and havent tried it myself. UG costs 500 to use, so its not exactly overpowered.</p

It seems like the people objecting to Snipe Teams are basically saying "Well, I havent ever encountered this, but IF it happened and IF I refused to notice and IF I refused to adapt to it, it might be kind of powerful". Come on now...there are a LOT of very simple counters to this as people are pointing out. It seems like the people who actually have encountered this and arent theorycrafting are all saying "Yeah, this is easy to beat". The bottom line is that Snipe teams a

You want to be careful with flag locking. Buying items to force enemies off flags or kill enemies is helping your team win the match just as much as increasing your war score is. Especially early in the game, putting out 250 gold constantly to lock things is a big deal. Items in this game are very important, so if you are down money due to flag locking, that can more than make up for the advantage you will have in war score. That said, there are definitely times to l

Thinking about it a bit more, it might be interesting to see what would happen with the Reg's working together if they all took something like Universal Gadget right off the bat. Combining timed Snipes/UG with even a pair of Regs would be pretty interesting early on. That could be 4 pretty substantial blows close together that have pretty good range. Thats probably at least 2300 damage from 2 DGs all landing within a few seconds. Sure it costs the DGs 1000 gold to cast
