The DL event has always been dissapointing, IMO. They show up naked and are pushovers if you get to them in any kind of reasonable time frame. The only way they become a threat is if they pop up early in the game and you can't FIND them until they've had some time to get a head of steam. They should really spawn with some defenses, I'd thought that was going to be done in TA but it wasn't. :(
ToA should have won.
I'd tend to agree, but the kids love their RT"S" games. The reality is Sins and ToA shouldn't even be in the same judging category, they're two radically different genres.
It does seem like a bit of a strategic error to have forced the Sins and GC2 communities over to Impulse before the platform was reasonably stable and bug-free. The comparisons with the proven, stable SDC platform are inevitable and invariably unfavorable.
Thanks for the continued AI tweaks and updates, you guys rock. Is there any chance of getting some GC2 micro expansions ala Sins: Entrenchment?
Fallout 3 isn't shipping with mod tools, and may never have them, which is reason enough to ignore it in my opinion.
Sad to see another good franchise become a worthless gamer-milking machine
Sell it while it's still worth something, these fad tech-toys don't hold up for long. You can get a device that will do everything you actually want it to for a fraction of the price, and spend the rest on anything you like.
Apple thinks their decisions about what tech should be in your laptop or desktop is more important than your decision about what should be in it, which is just one of many reasons I've never bought so much as an iTunes song from them.
One feature that I've concluded we should put in is to let people set the pacing of research any time they want within game. In a single player game, if I want techs to come faster, I should be able to do that. It's not cheating as it affects all players equally. *cough* Not cheating to put research at 100% while increasing research speed, and put it at 0% while decreasing it? *cough* It is both microma
If you want to switch back and forth, run in windowed mode. If you use your full screen resolution it won't even look any different, but it'll avoid the alt+tab problem.
Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East
What a fantastic little console the Dreamcast was/is. I still have mine hooked up to the living room TV and break it out now and again, it's held up surprisingly well and the hardware is rock solid. I had a friend that literally flung his across the room in frustration at one point and it was still fine, try that with an Xbox or Playstation.
I'd like for it to be 1) but having read license agreements I know better. People can believe whatever they want, of course, it'll have no impact on the reality of the situation.
Civ 4: BTS (I'm waiting on my copy of Colonization, so this is a warm up in some sense) and Crusader Kings. Oh, and some Team Fortress 2, because sometimes you have to stop thinking and just blow some people up.
I've seen no reviews for King's Bounty (anyone got links?) but I adored the original game from the early 90's. If this is a true successor it's going to be an automatic purchase.
Let's go the other way (because I don't know the support structure). How much are used PC games going for? How much would the used PC game buyer pay to get the support?
The answer to the first question depends on how "new" and "hot" the game is. In the case of someone like myself, who always sells early in a game's life cycle because if I like a game I keep it, usually in the ball park of 75%. PC game values drop faster t
I can only speak for myself in saying that I'd be much less inhibited about purchasing games from them if I knew I could make my money back in the event of not liking the game.It would be an interesting feature of a game if transferability was an option. But teh question is . .how much would a company have to charge for as a transfer fee to recoup any support costs and would that price-point fit the used game market. Real world examp
Quoting Zubaz, reply 9 What about the supports costs that Stardock already spent on you that they now incur with the new buyer? Support cost should be for the lifetime of the product supported via the Serial number. Kinda like a car warranty that's transferrable via the VIN. Perhaps have a mechanism where the email address or something associated to the serial number can be changed to the new person who buys the game.[

If you like a game, don't you want to reward the company so that they make more games? Reselling a game you liked instead of forcing a new sale distorts the metrics that go into the question of "Do we make more things like X or do we have to close up shop?"
Which is why I, for one, never sell games I lik
Not really. If you had installation issues, they spent money helping you fix them. If you had patching issues, they spent money getting it fixed. If the new owner has installation issues, they now have to spend money on the same support that you already got. It's not like they're simply transferred, there's a liability. A risk that they re-incur the same expenses with the new owner that they already had with you.
How's that any diffe
That's not a bug or an error, that's the icon view. It's a concession to screen clutter and performance at low zoom levels where lots of stuff is displayed on screen. To be honest, I prefer it to the full graphical mode because it's much easier to take in information and manage things on a large scale. It's pretty rare I zoom in close enough for the game to look like your second image there.

Spore's DRM was cracked before the game was even released in the U.S. That's the most riotously comical thing about all of this, really.
I dont believe there is a campaign. The devs just said "there won't be a campaign in a traditional sense", more or less. Which may mean there's no campaign at all and it's just a bunch of scenarios, or it's a non-traditional campaign (like Empire at War, or something). Either way, that's all we know. They just never flatly confirmed or denied the presence of any kind of a campaign
Hmm, a strate
The beauty of TES games, and hopefully the beauty of Fallout 3, is that modding can fix nearly anything. it certainly fixed Oblivion's questionable interface, the level scaling problem, and dozens of other issues. It also added reams of new content and bonus stuff. As long as Fallout 3 is as moddable as Morrowind and Oblivion were, I'm certain that it can be turned into a great game even if it doesn't start as one. Of course, if you buy the console version of a B
