After I installed BootSkin, instead of the boot skin I chose, I got a OS/2 WARP skin for no good reason, and I haven't had this computer near OS/2. After I log in it tells me that the instruction in some memory sector (I'll get the number shortly) told the computer to use itself, and it crashes svchost, and freezes the load, but I can still move my cursor. It does this for both accounts, and I left it for about 3 hours and nothing happened. I tried safe mode, and it says halfway through startup

I'd love to get it because it sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm selling my Christmas, soul, money and limbs for a new computer that'll spend more time playing it than loading it... shame. But it will be cool getting computer parts under the christmas tree and sticks of RAM in my stocking.
The a at the end of hablo means the person saying it is of the femal gender. Does not. Doesn't even mean the person saying it is of the female gender, for that matter. Hablo means "I speak" and habla means "he/she speaks". Spanish verbs do not imply gender, the nouns do. And I would speak some German, but it wouldn't take long for everybody to realize I'm quoting Rammstein and Megaherz. And nobody wants this thread to
Yeah, when I said AI I meant battle AI, not pathfinding (stupid me saying stupid things) , but still, the pathfinding is pretty hideous at times, even though I haven't noticed any of those hideous circles, but I'm still in the habit of manually giving pathfinding after a total war bender, so I haven't noticed anything as odd as your screenshots. Also, in the current AI's defense, I think that some abilities are impossible to run autocast on without knowing the players' plans (cough, armistice,
While I find the battles very cool looking and fun and all that other junk, I find that one thing pulls me away from the management of my empire, even when I can't afford distractions: the fighter ai. Put simply, whenever I enter a battle where I have fighters, I need to micromanage them far more than I should. Why? In a defensive battle, this problem is especially pronounced, since the enemy fleet comes into the system, my fighters decide to attack a ship (all good and well for now), but when t
I just played a lan game, and it's definitely lag, because I only had one stutter in the whole game. Other than that, the game was as smooth as ice.
I like that it'll run on my laptop, and that it doesn't need a cd to do that. I like that a lot. Oh, and I also like that it looks gorgeous on high. Great job making it require so little, yet be able to deliver so much prettiness. Oh, and I hope you don't get angry that I have the music in mp3 on my ipod, but me likes very much.
The shortcut keys for zooming are z,x,c as of when I checked last, and I noticed that when I used the side of the pad to zoom, the cursor changed like it was scrolling, but Sins wasn't recognizing it, so I think that, at least for me, it's an issue with Sins, since it works with full-screen apps (Medieval 2, for example). Also, a friend of mine has complained about the same thing, and the same cursor thing happens, so I think that the way mine works is pretty widespread. I have a Toshiba and he
I know my conclusion. I saw a review of galactic civilizations 2, and I thought it was pretty cool. Then I saw it had no copy protection, I bought it... and Sins of a Solar Empire just because it looked sweet and I immediately liked Stardock. I still can't buy Bioshock because I don't have the money, but I feel I made the right choice, plus I won't feel nearly as many compunctions about pirating a game that doesn't trust me not to, probably because I'm contrary. But still, despite all the swill
I liked beta 3 a good bit, but have only played single player so far. I actually thought the AI got a good bit better than the last beta, and it even cost me a planet, the first time that, or even a coherent attack in force had happened and not turned into an AI rout. My AI allies and enemies had a good fight with each other, and I actually saw an AI defeat another AI (another first). However, intercept courses would be a really good idea, as well as making it recognize important planets that th
new music tracks and music selection system AWWWW MAAAN... I just got around to converting all the music to mp3s and putting it on my ipod and you give me more? Why couldn't I have known?
I believe that classical music/instruments and modern rock/pop/rap music should be left separate. I wonder if you consider Edvard Grieg's work "classical", because I do, and In the Hall of the Mountain King sounds right at home in Apocalyptica's album Cult. I personally think that speed controls are the best thing you could add to the single player mode, since whenever one of my friends sees me playing, they tend to get bored during intersystem jumps, fleet building, strategic maneuvers, and generally anything that isn't blowing things up. And to be honest, I have been known to fill the empty space of a game by... playing another game of Sins, so if I could speed the empty time up and only have to play the one, that'd be great.
Sweet. I can't wait to see how badly carrier spam gets its butt handed to it by a decent fleet composition (despite the gorgeous damage output and tactical maneuverability, I loves it, my precious... *goes crazy with Gollum impression over carriers and similar sins sweetness, even forgetting to close the parentheses, for which his java compiler sttikes him down*
First things first: PLEASE GOD NO on the orbital mechanics. In case you didn't hear me properly, PLEASE GOD NO!!!!!!!!!! (Yes, I do consider the emphasis necessary). If any of you have looked through a physics textbook recently, you'll realize that if you want a space combat game, you need to skip all the mucking about in orbits and stuff because its impossible to coordinate a battle until gravity is relatively unimportant. Here's the short version: fighting in orbit constrains maneuverability s
First things first, though. we definitely need fighters to attack bombers first unless you explicitly tell them to. period. I am sick to death of blasting all my enemy's hangars in the first few seconds of a fight (I am a big fan of a massed carrier fleet, and don't usually bother with much else so I'm usually taking 100-200 bombers with 3 levels of heavy fighters into the fight, and have about 10-20 fighters) and watching my carriers get battered by my enemy's fighters since my fighters are off
There are two major reasons the stars aren't badly in need of a fix: The first is that the nature of stars as hubs to attack any of four planets gives the attacker enough of a fair chance to grab a planet and build a forward base so that there can be some really nice fleet battles. Because of this, the attacker has the most important advantage of all if the defender gives him the star: mobility. Defending four locations against a unified blow is impossible, and one victory allows the at
