Best to go by the version number available in Impulse, as this will indicate basically the patch level, not the build of the game itself. As of now, the latest Impulse version is 1.00.048

Impulse version 1.00.048 will be the latest. The version number in game will be different. Best to go by what's in Impulse.
Unfortunately, all the port forwarding and workarounds and plugging right into the raw 'net on your end doesn't necessarily mean that the people on the other end are doing the same. The patches coming out should help with this, and eventually give the "host" the option to kick problem players.
While P2P might be a good idea in theory, it seems, so far at least, to fail miserably in practise.
Please read here for an explanation of why it had to be done: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/345345
Patches are coming down the pipe and server upgrades being done to help with the situation. Make sure to let us know if they're working for you.

Most of this should be addressed with the latest updates. A lot was due to poor server response from being hammered on release day (still talks to the servers to check for updates, even on single player in the menus). Anyone still having issues?
Make sure you have the latest version through Impulse. The latest updates change the location of the server Demigod is checking at start, and if using the old version it may take longer due to the original server being crippled by bad connections/pirated copies.
It would be interesting/helpful to understand, in the scenario where one or two players fail to complete their connections, what is Demigod expected/trying to do in that scenario?
Please refer to this posting: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/345345
Today our servers were pretty maxed out from afternoon to evening EST. We are currently working on making sure at least the network infrastructure is solid to decrease failure rates. This won't solve the NAT issues, but will at least let those with the "nice" connections be able to play.
ViridShaman: e-mail . Any account issues are best left to e-mail support and not the forums. Sounds like something is going on accounts wise that needs to be cleared up. Make sure to include any e-mail addresses you may have used for accounts, as well as your Demigod serial number in your e-mail to support (DO NOT post the serial in the forums).
First and foremost make sure you're logged into Impulse with the same info you used to purchase the game, or if you bought it retail click the "Register Product" button on the bar below the tabs to register the retail game to the account so that you will see available updates. If the above does not help, from within Impulse: -Click the Impulse Logo in the upper left -Choose 'Preferences...' -Click the 'Reset Data' button -Close impulse and relaunch it. You ma
From within Impulse: -Click the Impulse Logo in the upper left -Choose 'Preferences...' -Click the 'Reset Data' button -Close impulse and relaunch it. You may notice a long update time, which is normal as it is rebuilding the deleted info. If this does not help, try downloading and running the following file: http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/fix_registrations.reg <br
I would like to know if this is common due to serer issues or whatever, or if its my internet/computer thats the problem.
Most likely the former. The servers took a pounding today, and were on and off. I would say wait a few days to start blaming your ISP/Network/etc. One of the things you can do that may help is to use the ImpulseReactorOptions.exe application in your Demigod\bin directory. This will limit the number of ports that the Multipla
Try verifying the game in Impulse. To verify the application through Impulse: -Launch Impulse. Right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify application" -Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application. You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application. -If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse. Run this update. -Once the update completes, reboot your PC. <
Driver Date/Size: 12/5/2007 01:41:00, 5773568 bytes
Thems some old video drivers (older than Ashley anyways: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/344995 ). Update them and see if it helps.
From within Impulse: -Click the blue Stardock Logo in the upper left -Choose 'Preferences...' -Click on the 'Folders' section on the left -Click the 'Reset Data' button -Close impulse and relaunch it. You may notice a long update time, which is normal as it is rebuilding the deleted info. What you've posted is the Impulse error log, which may give some hints, but not may for the game itself.
so as i learn the game next week, what DGs should i start with for light/dark. any reccomended stat/item builds for those?
I started with the Rook, and he seems to be the easiest to manage (most of his abilities are automatically done, so easy to learn other game controls). Usually put all the levels into hammer and health, and the occasional tower/archers/trebuchets when they're available.
http://www.impulsedriven.com/dem Release date still listed as April 14th, which is the correct date.
