I think I was misunderstood. From the first time I've seen the trailer, I've become a valiant defender and " marketing agent " for this game. I would talk about it non-stop with every gamer-type friend I would meet. I love the idea. I love the concept behind the game. For me to leave behind any dota beta discussions and to start reading almost every post on this forum and basically drooling when thinking of this awesome great and perfect game, meant a lot.

Interesting. Very interesting :D GJ with the vid. I love the UI.
With only 8 demigods, I'm already ready to cancel my pre-order . I hope I'll be able to do that with GPG. I don't mind having 8 for beta, but I hope we'll get at least 16 with the release in 2009.
I don't know what to make of this. Wasn't this suppose to be a project for competitive play ( tournaments etc. ) ? I don't like the idea of having to buy demigods only to be able to know their weaknesses and see what they are capable of. For a competitive play, having to buy the armies of the opposition doesn't sound too good to me. I should be able to know each demigod in the game to be able to make a decent strategy with my cla
Magic: The Gathering was the first thing I thought of too :D I doubt we will see custom unit/demigod builds. It will all be predefined. At least when the beta starts. I like customization too, but Demigod is not a 1vs1. I don't see it like that. Team-play will define this game and there is no point in having tons of ways to customize your hero when in the end there is nothing balanced at all just because of the huge number of players on such
And I want support for my gamepad. Actually, I want to ble able to play co-op with a friend on spli screen. Add support for my joystick too because I want to dive in with Regulus after I repair his wings. Please, wait for the freackin' beta. We will then see what type of controls suit the game better. Let me remind that Mythos had different cameras for the different movement types.
AZ is right. You are making your assumptions and the other party is making its own assumptions. Pointless fight until we experience the gameplay.
There may be an angel where he casted the spell. In the second picture, I can't see the wings clearly.
There are a lot of opinions on the "noob"'s etymology and meaning. The point is that we are referring to the idiots ( noob may be seen as slang for idiot in a community, where as newb may be seen as the new guy ) .
You disliking dota is the impediment to this debate. No one even said anything about dota. But that is your issue. I can't see WASD control type in Demigod . I would rather bind the skills on QWEASDZXC than moving and doing other actions with those keys. I hope it will have a top/isometrical view. Here comes the problem with WASD : will you have 2 control types for generals/assassins ? I don't say that the control in Sacrifice wasn't good, but the control in War3 is better.
You are right. You don't posses the necessary info to buy the game, yet. As for me, after I've seen the first trailer, I was sold. Just from the description they managed to convince me to pre-order it.
I too will help the members with any networking problems if my expertise will cover the problems. Can't wait to get my hands on the game :D
One other thing players may find interesting is that GPG and Stardock have nearly a full year of free updates planned for Demigod.
What does that exactly mean ? I understand that after a period, you will release an add-on ? or that the game will be pay2play ?
I can't tell if you are talking about noobs or idiots. There's a huge difference : there are the people that are new to the game and want to learn it ( still noobs ) and the people that are new to the game, want to learn it but are complete idiots ( idiotic noobs ). We are all newcomers to this game and for the first 2-3-50 matches, we'll be all noobs/naabs/newbies/newbees ( there are a lot of forms ). And yet again, I must conclude that you are talking about idiots. I
I don't think that such a component will be vital, but will sure come in handy. I can work with a vent server.
I hope we'll get only one good mode. At least in the beg. I'm for diversity, but the way the game is designed, I don't think a dm will work. The players will be randomly spawned ? The generals will be spawned with some creeps too ? Will there by safe zones for each player ? I can't see a dm in Demigod. Just can't see it. If we get a map editor ( smth similar to the w3's world editor ) , then we can make our own game modes. Otherwise, I just wa
It's still unclear what generals can do and what they can't . I reckon the generals will have auras, buffs, party based skills, while the assassins will rely on nukes etc. Until the PaX, we are a bit blind.
Hera wasn't only the protector of wives...She had a lot more prerogatives.
Black, you couldn't pull that off in 10 minutes. Nor in 20 minutes. You could do it after 30, 40 minutes out in the game, while having a good team that will distract the enemy by concentrated harass. But even in this case, marching with the army of creeps (also, it could have been be Chen ) made it hard for the players to have a good micro due to the lack of space. And believe me, I've seen a match in which 2 russians managed to turn the balance and win, just because the other team tri
He is stating that if the general has direct control over the creeps, he can harass the assassins easily, harass their base, etc. thus having a less "tidy" game-play. At least, that was what I understood.
Squeezed my neurons : Val'Thesh Ravel more to come.
The idea is pretty simple : each demigod can choose to empower one of his skills. We have the Torch : at first, I'll go and empower my Aoe Fire Nuke. After cleaning the house, I'll just empower my Ice Touch ( Stun/Diss ? ) to increase its duration. It will come as an extra skill that we will be able to use on one of our skills. We can have only one empowered skill. After the usage of the empowered skill, we can empower another one. At the moment, I do
I think that in mp, we will have to play gradually with all demigods. As we gain points/experience, we will be able to play with different ones. But I don't think that this will be such a great idea. I do hope that it isn't.
It will all get down to management. Since a team with more generals will have more units than a team with less generals, it will all get down to how effective will the assassins be in taking out the surplus of units/heroes. I think that a part of the game isn't clear to some of you : there will be units spawning continuously for both sides, that will be controlled by the AI. So, I don't think it will be so hard to balance the 2 types of demigods, since the units wi
Did anyone answer to the question regarding playing with friends that haven't preordered ? I reckon we will create some open/hamachi/etc. groups. Can't wait to try it out. Can't wait....
I think we are missing a point here. From what I have understood, there will be 2 types of experience points: the experience that you will get in the actual map/battle by killing creatures/demigods , and the experience you will receive after the match ( by winning or by loosing ; i guess the winners will get more xp ). It must be cleared if I will select just one demigod when I will first create the account, demigod with whom I will play through out all the matches, or if I will selec
