I know the point he is trying to make. People are ignoring the nerf and balance the game is going to need. The game will never be 100% balanced and at the moment it is not balanced enough. There are to many noticeable unbalanced issues that shouldn't be ignored and considered as whine or ignorance.
Well Siphaed you do not have to pay :). I am surprised you actually got to play your games HorseRadish. The first and second round was full of default wins. But I am going to notify or write something on the ESL - Demigod forum about what should do next time, like give better information and send notification to the players because it all seem to have gone wrong.
Believe me if the game was all balanced people would not complain about it. I personally feel like the game could start using a bit of balancing as I have experience a few situations where I completely lost it and felt like giving. Unclean beast being able to take 3 Demigods on his own late and coming out the winner sometimes. We are not even talking skills here it is just item building and lvlup and he was able to do that. I don't think that we should see his thread as a whine rather a critical suggestion, because it is true you can't have leagues or cups in the future with overpowered Demigods. I think the top players should be rewarded with something and not community status. :) That is something they will have to plan and figure out how they will do if they simply keep it something for fun like community status/medal like symbol for rank or they go more competitive with it and reward the top players or player with prizes. God do you people enjoy doing and being like that. RE5 and Crysis are rated in their catergory. Third person shooters and first person shooters. If not every single DS game would get a 1/5 for shit Graphics and gameplay. That is how reviewing work. They do not compare two genre's rather see where that game stands in its catergory and in the time it was released. They had their reasons for giving Crysis a 3/5. I agreed with them. The patch doesn't fix bug/glitches and balance it's an update for the connectivity issue. After the connectivity issue is solved then they will focus their attention on Balancing and fixing problems. Kotaku doesn't give score they simply say if the game is good, bad, worth it or not. Their story is the same as all the other reviews. Cons: Connectivity issue and a supreme lack of guidance.
