Just played my first game with the red ship mod in and i love the way they look.... good job. ~SDC~
Parable
I want to get into writing some events but i need a program that'll turn .jpg, .jpeg, and .bmp into .pcx and vice versa... anyone know a good freeware program that'll do this? ~SDC~
Hmmm... but i understand that part of the scoring system takes into account the length of time in which a player is the opposite alignment of the bulk of the computer players. If the bulk of the computer players are Evil and at the end of the game i wind up being Chaotic Good, what does that amount to? What if the bulk of the computer players are nuetral or of a chaotic alignment... where then would the human player be in opposition to the computer alignments? Or am i just thinking to
CariElf, thanks to you and the time you put into trying to help me fix my game, my GalCiv is now working perfectly. Not a single problem do I see, except some minor ones were a few event pictures have gone missing... but that is being fixed as i go along. Thank you once again. ~SDC~
Finally, a patch that i could install without my game getting seriously f'd up... ahh, it feels nice to play a seemingly non-glitchy, non-ctd game of GalCiv. ~SDC~
Ever wonder why the organization that they worked for was the UFP, the ships had the title USS, and the numbers on the ship started with NCC? So, Kirk captained the UFP NCC-1701 USS Enterprise... What the hell did NCC stand for? ~SDC~
when is the expansion supposed to be coming out? I want to see more political parties and more events caused by rival parties... it'd help make the concept of human government and the need to stay in power a more tangible thing than it currently is. ~SDC~
Unfourtunatly, the UPIssues are one of the more under-developed items in the game, so you may find yourself limited on what you can create.
... That's why i wanted to try to get into making UP Issues... Personally, It seems that for a Galactic United Nations Organization they do very little ever and i wanted to try my hand at making things a little more varied in that respect of the game. I'm considering doing events too, as they pop up more regularly and i'd be able to
... as the GalCiv Nanites invade every crevice of my brain... Need... play... more.... can't.... stop.... need... help... but... so.... damn... amazing.... Keep up the great work, the great mods, and the great... ummm, well the great everything!
I would like to start scripting some events for GalCiv, but mostly i want to do some UP Issues as i feel they are few and far between in the games i've played. My problems is though.... i have no clue how to or what program(s) i need, or what sort of scripting knowledge i would need. Could someone help point me in the right directions?
so what does it mean to be Chaotic Good? ~SDC~
aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggg........ I keep spending entire nights playing this game. I start them at a decent hour, then before i go to sleep i decide to play for an hour, and then 6 hours later I'm telling myself that one more turn and i can go to bed. I finally stop, either by winning or forcing myself to stop, and instead of sleeping soundly i find myself thinki9ng about what i should do next, what i should've done, or ... the worst is I actually wound up dreaming about GalCiv.
I'm a recent convert to the CariElf fanclub.... she saved my massively glitching GalCiv earlier... she spent a good deal of time talking to me, and coming up with ideas, and checking things out for me. She was a real saviour.... and if she reads this thread, Thanks CariElf.
I was having massive problems concerning SDC and GalCiv... updating to 1.05.069 patch for GalCiv caused it to crash automatically when i tried to start it. After talking to Cari about it for a while she said i should try using the 1.04 patch to replace the missing files i had from the 1.05.069 mishap. Unfortuneatly this cause my game to believe that it didn't exist... patch 1.04 is much safer in my opinion. As for SDC, even with the new build (16) I still have problems. Using SDC 1.01A.175 B
I love constructors and starbases... I try to grab up as much resources near/in my sectors as soon as possible and then place starbases along my trade routes. I also usually let them build up in my star systems for a while (like was said earlier in the thread) and fleet them for the super constructor... but i almost never have more than 2 starbases per sector and usually only have 1 in empty or useless sectors that my mini-freighters pass through.
Oops... accidentally hit ctrl+enter.... as soon as i hit the desktop shortcut or the start game button in the menu that pops up when you put the cd in the screen goes black and then straight back to the desktop ~SDC~
Mine crashes to the desktop before i even get to start a new civ... as soon as i click the desktop shortcut or the ~SDC~
I recently updated to the newest patch on Stardock, 1.05.69 I think, and now Galactic Civilizations won't even start up. If i try to start from the Menu when you put the CD in it makes the screen go black and then go straight back to my desktop and the same happens when using the Desktop Shortcut. ~SDC~
