It's been a while, but I'm back. I've been heads down for the last month or so trying to tweak performance and graphics for the media tours. Here are a couple of shots of the stuff I've been working on. The map is looking nice :) The nebula and star patterns you see are all randomly generated. We've also tweaked some of the planet, ring and moon

First off, Happy New Year! First week back from the long break and a bout of flu. Isn't life grand. I've been deep down in the guts of the ship design screen trying to hook things up. I'm sorry I don't have a screen today. I'm too far into this to come up for air right now. I promise I'll have a cool shot next week. <!
Mad polishing... my elbow is sore. The last couple of weeks have been taken up by polishing what we have so that Brad could show it to some people. We weren't too happy about that. The code was fragile and it looked like poop. But, we managed to pull together something halfway decent. Here's a shot for you... <a target="_blank
I'm tired of silly presents. This year, I'm getting my secret santa a game. If anyone wants any game ideas that are $10-$15 let me know follow this link... And, if you're my secret santa, you can get me any of these games... http://www.fairplaygames.com/holidays.asp I'll be coordinating an order for the end of this week. Let me know if you want to get anything.
Another week another shot. Actually, this shot isn't from new stuff that I did this week. Spent the entire (short) week running BoundsChecker. We had some massive leaks. Now we're less sieve like. I also revamped the SceneNode architecture. We used to have a problem with vtable scissoring. No longer. Anyways, here's the shot. It's jus
Another week another entry... Things have been picking up quite a bit around here. We have an internal deadline we're trying hard to meet. I've been working on a lot of under the covers stuff. Stuff that doesn't directly show up on the screen, but makes the stuff that shows up on the screen better. I did manage to work on a couple of things th
After a long hiatus (off developing Political Machine), I'm back. It's been a busy week here at SD. Halo2 was released on Tuesday and I haven't played any other game since. I highly recommend multiplayer and looking up your stats on bungie.net. If you frag "Spartan 071", that's me. Anyways, on to GalCiv2 stuff. Since I haven't re
JaguarJames, Does this happen everytime you first start political machine, or just the first time after you installed it? If it only happend after you installed it, then that's normal. There's some graphic processing done before the game starts up. Subsequent starts should be snappier. Joe
You can also "bank" stamina to raise your stamina level. If you have left over stamina, that gets added to the bank at a 2:1 ratio (ie. 2 stamina = 1 in the bank). When this bank reaches your current level, your permanent stamina level goes up by one. I like to bank a couple of stamina early in the early turns and by mid-game, my stamina increases.
Install and run SmartException it's in the Free Stuff tab of Stardock Central. This will produce a polmachine.exe.cra file which you can send to [email protected]. It'll really help us analyze the problem. - Mudflap
Aside from picking a running mate that comes from a state you want, you should also pick a running mate that compliments your abilities. Your stats are modified by the running mate. For instance, if you have low charisma, you want a running mate that has high charisma. Your overall charisma will be the highest of the two.
Which operating system are you running? If you are running WindowsXP, make sure you have Service Pack 1 installed.
CrocoLyle, If that doesn't work, can you please send the debug.err file (in the political machine directory) to [email protected]. Also tell them it's for the PoliticalMachine so they can route it quickly. Joe

ganderson, That's how our map works. Just go into the mode and start clicking away. You'll see the electoral votes changing.
StrategicAlliance and Peter Sly, We're trying to reproduce your hardware configuration in house so we can debug the problem. Please be patient. Peter Sly, can you tell us what video card and drivers you have installed?
For all you having the large triangle problem... 1) Open PolMachine.ini. It should be in the same folder as PolMachine.exe 2) Find "BehaviorFlags=68". Change 68 to 132. 3) If that doesn't work, change the 68 to 36. Please let us know if it fixes your problems.
ElChupacabra, Try this.... 1) Find PolMachine.ini. It should be in the same folder as Polmachine.exe 2) Set the "BehaviorFlags" to 132 (ie. BehaviorFlags=132) 3) If that didn't work, try 36 Please let us know if it worked.
