History
This idea started this morning when Caldur and I were discussing the Coin Purse favor item (reduces cost of all items by 10%). The discussion mainly revolved around the fact that it probably was not worth it due to alot of facts.
First off you give up your favor item slot to fit the coin purse, a slot that could otherwise be filled by good as 3000g worth of an item otherwise.
Second, doing some calculations on it, saying you want to buy a 3000g item that would now cost 2700g, And estimating the time needed to gain 2700gold to be 5 minutes you can put the coin purse in relation to gold income such as (3000-2700)/(5*60)=1 gold per sec, So you may as well consider those 10% to be a +1 gold income item which imo, doesn't measure up at all.
Theory
So we discussed if it should just be converted into a clean +gold income item instead, and this is where it started to get interesting because one of the ideas we thought about was something along the lines of "Increases your teams gold income by 2 and reduces the cost of items for you by 10". The big thing here is that what we got here is a favor item that may not benefit you too much, but it would be the first favor item to benefit the whole team.
So we started to think about the idea of favor items that benefited the whole team and not only you, these items would make for much more fun when picking favor items since you would have to think a bit about what demigods your team mates were playing as well, got a lot of magic users? Pick the "+5% max mana to team and +8 mana regen for you" item. Got alot of melee heroes, go with the "+5% health for team and +5 hp regen for you" item.
These favor items could probably incorporate any effect from team movementspeed, team minimum movementspeed cap to team attackspeed. This would make for some fun items for sure.
The next thing that came up in our discussion were regarding how these items would be allowed to stack or not with the same item, all 5 demigods picking the coin purse in the same team may make for some quite overpowered gold income of 5? per sec.
Postitive/Negative about stacking team effects
As I see it it would be positive things with both ways of doing it. Possitive about allowing stacking is that you could go with really niched teams, if everyone picked the health items that gives +3% hp to the whole team the whole team would have +15% hp, You would have a tank team.
The positive side of not having these items stacks would be that the team would have to talk at start about who picks what item, what combination of 3 items (3v3 game) would make the best for us? a team consisting of Regulus, Unclean Beast and Rook would for example most probably want to go with +3% hp(Unclean beast), +3% attackspeed(Regulus) and perhaps +3% armor(rook). So each of the demigods would have the regular improvments those items offer but also gain the 3% from the items your teammates picked.

Overall I think these types of functions for favor items that benefit the whole team, Are well worth looking into for future patches.
Conclusion
One idea would be to add a team effect to all favor items, balancing them out with the now underpowered items having a slightly bigger team effect, that way you get another choice if whether go for a strong individual or a strong team. Anyway, If this idea could be forwarded to the devs so they at least could have a small discussion about it it would be great.
