I live in Europe, in eastern europe if you need clarification. When I join the custom games list in DG, I have four tables of information:
name of game (which is the most informing tab), #'of players/player limit, map, host's name.
What I propose (sorry if this has been proposed, which I do not doubt it has been at some point) is to add an average ping (of the players or mabye just the host's ping) of the game being hosted. Because when I read "EU 3v3 fact connections only pls" I have no idea what speed the connection might be with the other players. I might join and enjoy a nice range of pings from 36-180 ms; or I might join and be the guy with the 356 ms. I understand that due to the nature of this conenction set-upof the game, that getting an average for a hosted game might be near impossible (since the system would need to analyzie everyone in a game * all the other games in custom). Perhaps this will appear with the proxy servers.
Regional filters would also be much appreciated, since while I see US EAST games I know its not worth even trying to join the game, the distance is so vast increasing my ping and it increase the chance of a connection being broken mid-game. The worst thing so far with DG multiplayer is being dropped mid-game, since you already committed to a team and when you leave your buddies are left in a much weakened spot. You get bad rep, and you let down people who could pass the world of mouth that so and so is a leaver...
Anyway once multiplayer stops kicking me from games (and I apoligize to anyone with who i was playing with last night, cause I ended up getting kicked from 2 of the 3 games) this game will be great. Also love the comments from DG's management, at least it seems like they care (or at least a good business model). Would like to hear how those proxy servers are coming along.
