The old "quality over quantity"...How i come to hate this expression, especially when it refers to games...Really, this is just a poor excuse for laziness (or cheapness), in most cases anyway. How do you know that by bringing more demigods, the quality would suffer? As far as they don't start repeating themselves (play style and skills), i say bring as many as possible. I don't think the limit in this case is 10 or 12.
One does not exclude the other, that's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is I'd rather have 10 DGs I all love to play than 12 of which I never play three because they suck. But yes, I'd rather have 12 DGs that are all great to play. You are right that the saying "quality over quantity" is cheesy and is used as an excuse a lot (though the problem is that with most game studios you get neither).
And if am not wrong, you want 12 more maps? Do you know who hard it is to make a map in DG? There is a reason why a map editor it's not possible, it's because each map is made from scratch in 3dmax, with new art and all. Afaic, i would prefer more demigods than maps. But that's just me...
I do not want 12 more maps, I want 12ish maps in the game total. Any maps after that I'd pay for as DLC. How hard it is to make a map does not directly concern me. Their method has its pros and cons. I just want a solid base of maps that I like to play on. I prefer both types of new content equally, I'd rather have new maps and new DGs introduced equally. (Wether one map equals one demigod is something I'd not dare say and a whole new discussion altogether)
