Multiplayer in LAN without internet

Hi guys,

 

Does anybody know why  I have to be online when I want to play a LAN game in Demigod?

I had some problems with my ISP last week and a friend and I wanted to play on my Locaal Network which is working even if there is no internet connection available. So I had to experience that we were not able to connect to each other. I couldn't really believe that the internet connection could be responsible for this. Isn't this game working with broadcasting?

Well I tried it today since my ISP fixed the problem and its possible to play on LAN too. Does anyone know why this is the case?
