Stardock says: Yes, somewhat.
- Impulse Updates: Very Likely
- BugFix patches: Likely
- New Demigods and Maps: Less Likely
If you want to help out and help make these things sooner, then I suggest helping out with the UberFix. The UberFix is a Community Patch collection which works to fix bugs in Demigods (not game balance). Frogboy has said that he will support adding it to the Demigods updates. Our job would be to make it as erfect as possible before they add it to the mainline patch.
GPG isn't making any money off the updates they would do. Furthermore making Demigods and Maps is extremely expensive (~$10k) given the large number of programmer hours they have to spend on it. Therefore they are unlikely to put in lots of money into it, because they aren't getting anything out of it. If Demigods had a huge popularity resurgence, then GPG would be getting more money for selling more copies of Demigods. If this happened, they would be much more likely to make more content (Maps & Demigods). So our best hope for getting new content is increasing the size of the Demigods community.
Stardock funded most of the post release Demigod programming. Brad has put a lot of money into Demigods because he supports his products. However, like GPG, they aren't making very much money off of Demigods anymore. Therefore it is hard to justify (other than a tax write off) more content, without something to make up for the loss. It would be akin to your boss telling you that you have to work all this week, but not get paid for your work.
