Only 1-2 Trailers? No gameplay footage? 50 BUXX O_o

Hey all,

I'm looking for something new to play and came across this game, and i just had a few questions. I've been looking around forums and reading that beta should start sometime early Sept.  So i google'd and tried to look for gameplay videos on youtube but only came across 2 trailers.

And basically if i want to play in beta stage, i have to BUY the game now even though there's no videos about units, gameplay.. etc etc. Kinda like..Starcraft 2, there were introduction of units, footages, blablabla. Not trying to trash this game on any sort, maybe there's actually more videos but i haven't came across any? I know the 2 trailers have gameplay footages but not like..detailed or anything..its just random mobs moving, spells..etc etc, to promote the game but not too informative lol?

And from what i've hearing i will only be able to participate in the beta stage if i pre-order the game now? Was hoping maybe people would try the beta make small videos and i could watch and then decide to buy or not.

Ne thoughts?

You're perfectly justified in not buying yet, what with the lack of info.

Once beta 1 starts, there'll probably be a bunch of gameplay videos that should make your choice easier. >.>

*shrugs* It's still like 5 months away from release.

But yeah I wish i had seen a gameplay video.

But I Preordered like.. 2 hours after it was possible to.

If you preorder AFTER the beta starts you won't get in until the next phase starts (which could be weeks or months later, who knows.)

You are right. You don't posses the necessary info to buy the game, yet.

As for me, after I've seen the first trailer, I was sold. Just from the description they managed to convince me to pre-order it.

Yeah I bought it because of the potential for this type of game..
It could be one of the best games ever.
It could also totally suck.. depends on gpg.

Also, if you preorder later, once you have got a good look at the game, it's possible to get into a later stage of the beta, in another month or two.
That is what i would do in your situation, perhaps it will turn out to not be your type of game.

I read an early interview in one of gaming mags about Demigod and when I read that it was inspired of Dota I was sold immediately.

Later when I saw that if I pre-ordered I got in the beta I jumped all over it.

well it was $75 for me cause i got the box version but yea theres lack of detail and iunno what u mean by 2nd trailer ive only ever seen 1 so i basically bought this game on the hope it will be amazing.

As I understand it ti will be in phases.

If you preorder before a phase, you get the beta.

If you preorder after phase1 starts, you won't get in until phase2 starts.

So you could wait until a friend who gets in phase1 tells you about it..
But who knows what they'll say, as the early betas are going to probably be rough.

Do you like Dota? Preorder it :)

Nah, i really preordered it because of this reason. Often i thought about, what if Icefrog (currently Designer of Dota) would create a totally own game based on a nice graphic enigne... and then i read about Demigod .. *drool*

I just had to preorder it and help to make this game absolutley awesome :)

Yep i preordered DemiGod because I loved projectile physics in Supreme Commander and DOTA is an outstanding game.

with the recent news of pax handson there is even more reason to preorder. from what ive read it has gotten a lot of thumbs up in the playtests and there is still 5-6 months left to release to improve so thing are looking good.
