Tired of seeing the generic 'I want ____ demigod ingame'

Suggest a Demigod

The purpose of this thread is to supply stardock or whoever sees it with a general idea of what demigods
we want inside the game. Not nessecerially all of us will agree on one thing but this thread was made to
organize the thoughts and center the comments on demigod ideas rather then the random

"Super KabLOOM Demigod Please!"

In terms of seeing at least 5 of these, Im perfectly fine with them. What im NOT fine with is that:

-The thread usually only has a theme..period
-No details about the demigod itself
-No details on the type of skills or role it plays
-Assasin or General Type?

So I designed a simple form that YOU guys can fill out for demigods you'd like to see in the game.

[Comments]: (Any specific added details thats 'special' about this demigod) 

Feel free to leave comments on other people's heroes. What you think of them, if you think it would be nice for the demigod to be in-game,
if you support or want to change up a demigod. The company listens to US, cause well..they got no one else to listen to :D

Imma start out with a general demigod to spark some ideas.

[Name]: The Necrobeast

[Type]: Assasin

[Theme]: Part Undead, Beast, Necromancer

[Skill Type]: Has the ability to ravage enemy units, focusing on speed and one lane dominance.
Units killed can be turned into lesser undead beasts that can be controlled and supply yourself
with burst creep damage. Lesser Beasts can explode when the necrobeast signals it.

[Apperance]: A cross between a Lycanthrope and a Pale Necromancer type genre.
Very bloody, shows part of the innards, has bone structure poiting out.

[Role]: Melee DPS and Pusher

[Comments]: Simple Concept. Kill -> Raise -> Recycle. A Constant DPS hero
for those who like fast paced types of demigods.

[Theme]: Nine-Tailed Fox of Japanese mythology
[Skill Type]: Illusions, Mobility
[Apperance]: Er... a nine-tailed fox.
[Role]: Deception, flag-capturing, deny enemy options, team support.
[Comments]: Mobile. Creates illusions, decieves and drains mana. Self-buffs to evasion. Has low burst damage. Less about taking control, and more about making the enemies lose control. A small but important difference.

Well here is my suggestion, hope it sparks something good:

[Name]: Scar' Ab


[Type]:General

[Theme]: A spider like golden insect based on Egiptian mythology

[Skill Type]: Has the ability to spawn eggs witch, depending on witch type of allied creature died first near it, will hatch an insect to take its role.(EX: An angel  dies near an egg, and 5 seconds after it spawns a weak wasp creature to take its role as a flying unit)

Also posesses evasive like skills to avoid beeing killed by assasin type demigods like: Burrow, Refflective Armour, Paralizeing poison.


[Apperance]: Looks like a cross between a spider and a humanoid bettle, coloerd in a  golden egiptian styled carapace.

[Role]: A Supoter, Swarm pusher, evader and traper.

  
[Comments]:  A verry adaptable General type demigod that can replenish his dieing units, evade assasins and its a verry good pusher.

However, this comes at a price:

1) Not a 1:1 demigod, unless you can rush you oponent in early game.

2) It only shines in team games.

[Type]: General
[Theme]: Giant Turtle beast
[Skill Type]: Can shoot jets of water from it's mouth (Or steal from Pokemon and shoot them out of his shell.) And can also call turtle minions.

[Apperance]: A Gaint turtle kinda like the ones you see in godzilla and japanese symbols on his back. (Life, love, Victory and death)
[Role]: mostly a tank

[Comments]: Lots of defense from his gaint shell but it makes him very slow in terms of attack speed and running speed.

[Skill Type]: Can slow down all other players on the entire map(same exact effect as much faster attack speed, but way more dramatic looking/feeling) for a period of time, and slow down just all enemies for a shorter period of time, make a gravity well type thing that sucks units into it, those types of neat things

[Role]: Support
[Comments]: "Bullet time" and pixel offset distortion effects = awesome.

Firstly, let me apologize for shamelessly advertising my ideas.

 

From what I've seen, the powers of Regulus, didn't seem very interesting; they were pretty bland. Oh yes, they probably wont make him UP, but they are so "vanilla", so to speak.

Since he probably lacks high armour or lots of hp, so he needs some decent crowd control spells to be able to compete.Suggestion: give him a balloon, sorta like a jetpack mounted on his back. When he uses this power he flies for a short amount of time, giving him the advanage that only archers can hit him and he will be able to fly over gaps in maps; changing lanes. Obviously, it needs a high mana cost, and CD. Fluffwise it makes sense, he was an angel, and lost his wings, he uses man made tech to cover for his disadvantage.


A second thing I would suggest are smoke bombs/ mines. If these trigger the it leaves fog of war(or some smoke animation) for everyone save the Regulus player (he has goggles afterall) for a 5-10 secs in the area; not the whole map. The other player(s) can see their own units like strategic icons, they can't see other units, in the confusion regulus can run away, however, if the other players guess right they can follow him; when the smoke clears...

And Thirdily:P.

Give him harpoon ability: if he uses this, he shoot an harpoon. When it hits the target can only walk to Regulus, but wont be able to walkaway from him since the rope of the harpoon stops him. Great for killing runners :) . If the target tries to run away from regulus, his movement will be downed by 70 procent.

[Theme]: Snake

[Skill Type]: Clairgustance - Able to absorb/share the effects of expendable items used by other nearby demigods.

Clairsentience - Able to share buff status effects used by nearby enemies.

Empathic Contagion - Any negative status effects used on nearby allied units are healed, but the Echidna is inflicted by the same effects.  Afterward,  all nearby enemy units are inflicted with the same effects.
[Apperance]: A rather large Naga, but moves in a way that it can hide amongst the creeps.

A special Christmas Demigod only available around Christmas time or if there can be a way to spend points and buy him. (Make sure that his balanced with all the others so it would provide an advantage for using him vs other demigods.)

[Type]: Assasin
[Theme]: Gaint fat man in a red suit

[Skill Type]: Carries around a large green bag which he uses as a kind of mace. He has the ability to throw large toys out of the bag like missles. Can call out raindeer. Up close he can ram someone with his large jiggly belly and knock them back a distance and has a skill called cookies and milk when used can heal a certain ammout of damage.
[Apperance]: A very large man with a smile always on his face he carries around a large green bag full of toys.
[Role]: Melee DPS
[Comments]: His Santa and if you don't like this idea your on the bad kid list!

[Theme]: Six-armed guy inspired by Indian myth
[Skill Type]: A cuisinart with low damage, very high attack rate, but very little overkill so he does well against weaker enemies and worse against the tougher ones. Very weak defenses outside of combat, but inside combat, can dodge nearly all melee attacks and make ranged attacks hit him far more softly than outside of battle. Keep him stuck in to keep him alive
[Apperance]: A smallish human looking demigod with six arms (oddly colored, I like the idea of pitch black)
[Role]: Close combat killer designed to take on enemy creeps rather than the big guys.

[Theme]: Warp Reaper
[Skill Type]: Can use short range teleportation (longer range lessened cooldown as it goes farther down the tier tree), can use "Reap" (massive DMG to one target, loooooooooong cooldown), summon warp beast (summons a beast from the warp [not nearly as strong as the ugly beast, but can hold it's own against creeps], skill #4 (to be named later, makes enemy or allied hero leave battle temporarily [ or possible a "gravity well" type of portal which sucks creeps into it and deals good dmg])
[Apperance]: Grim Reaper with fancy purple runes along hem of robe and on it's scythe
[Role]: Melee DPS
[Comments]: I came up with this idea a little while back for a different project, but I think it would be great if Gas Powered and Stardock could pull it off even better. BTW, if someone had this idea before me, but didn't post it, I am sorry.

[Name]: Cataphract

[Type]: Assassin

[Theme]: Medieval Roman (Byzantine), perhaps based loosely on some of their military saints

[Skill Type]: Mounted, with both a bow for ranged attacks and a mace for melee; I imagine he'd have some divine smiting type powers (no healing, I think, but maybe an aoe melee skill with his mace or something) to go with the military saint theme

[Apperance]: A heavily armored cavalryman (mail and lamellar, on an armored horse) with a composite bow and a flanged mace, he should wear white for his cloth I think

[Role]: Tank/Ranged and melee dps hybrid, but fast (he's mounted)

[Comments]: I imagine this guy would be sort of the epitome of such historio-mythic figures as Belisarius, Heraclius, Theodore, Digenes Acrites, etc. He'd give a bit of a different flavor than a typical western European or Middle Eastern type of character, and a sort of a saintly cavarly soldier seems like the best way to add a Byzantine element to Demigod

[Theme]: Ganesh, from Hindu Mythology

[Skill Type]: A skill to sweep masses of creep away with Aum's trunk...as for his alternate money making route (suggested by the LUA file finds from Legerdemain)...a skill to cause nearby creeps to shower the demigod with tribute.
[Apperance]: An Elephant walking on its hind legs, about 2/3 the size of Rook.
[Role]: Tank/Caster Hybrid.
[Comments]: This Demigod General would need an achievement called "Leader of the Pach", based on creations of his special Elephant units.  And "An Elephant Never Forgets (to kill!)" based on damage by the elephant units.

Here's another one.

[Name]: Photios
[Type]: Assasin
[Theme]: Ancient Greek Hero
[Skill Type]: Lots of lightning abilities (scion of zeus kind of deal, so basic lighning bolt spears, maybe a chain lightning special attack and probably a ball lightning stun) with moderate armor, but slow moving
[Apperance]: Tall human with a bronze muscle cuirass and corinthian style helmet, armed with a spear crackling with electricity; maybe give him an aspis shield too (the round hoplite shield)
[Role]: Caster, a bit slower moving and a bit less squishy than others
[Comments]: I really liked the Pandaran shaman hero with his lightning attacks, so I thought this guy might be a decent way to have something vaguely similar; I picture him as one of Zeus' many offspring, making him sort of related to Herakles

Need "3 hand bitch-slap" as a skill.

LOL!!!!!!! That would be epic. Based of kali, then, I guess, even if she has only 4 arms. Plus, she has pitch black skin, so the visual juxtaposition with sedna the healer with white tiger would be pretty cool, IMO. (christ, I'm developing an artist's sensability).

Oh, no edit, and I just remembered a demi I'd also like to see. An evil looking knight on horseback with a shapeshifting weapon (I'd love to make him a vampire, but three is pushing things). I have an artistic idea that's a nod to a band I like (and you haven't heard of, but oh well) and the black templars from warhammer 40k. Give him a charge with lance that does more damage the more run up you have (and knockback a la medieval 2 total war), an AoE where his sword turns into a giant scythe a la grim reaper, an ability where he takes a halberd into a single target for heavy DoT, and an ability where he uses a giant flail to hit at range. I'll fill out the form later.

[Name]: The Scion of Mars (Marcelinus or something?)
[Type]: General
[Theme]: Classical (Pagan) Rome
[Skill Type]: Can summon legionnaires, though whether they are actual human soldiers or some kind of animated lorica segmenta or whatever, I don't know; has only a basic gladius for self defense; can "rally" (heal perhaps) his troops; maybe give him a higher level ability to summon a ballista or other Roman siege engine
[Apperance]: He should look like a classical Roman general but with suitably supernatural dressings (maybe flames instead of the red military cloak or something)
[Role]: Summoner
[Comments]: Since the other two I've suggested so far were both Assassins I thought I'd go with a general this time, and to keep the same general cultural/geographic theme, I went with Classical Rome (to accompany Christian Rome/Byzantium and Ancient Greece)

Well, the templar of doom is getting a post now

 

[Name]: Herald of death
[Type]: Assassin
[Theme]: Large evil looking knight in black armor and a shapeshifting sword.
[Skill Type]: Can charge with a lance for huge damage and knockback, but the shorter the runup, the lower the damage (IE the closer to the maximum range, the more damage it does). Can sweep through creeps with a scythe and hit a single enemy with a flail to tie them up for a second and slow them down for a good bit longer. Can do something else as his fourth ability.
[Apperance]: Mounted knight on a big black horse similar to Warhammer chaos knights, with black armor and a horned helmet similar to the Ritterbreuder from Med 2: Kingdoms. On top, a white surcoat with a red maltese cross on it. Oh, and a frikkin' 'uge sword. I'll try to composite a picture eventually.
[Role]: Hard hitting and fast but fragile melee demi.
[Comments]: Wanted something that could charge with knockback. That simple, but it became a lot cooler.

One more from me.

[Name]: Athanatos
[Type]: General
[Theme]: Zoroastrian Persia
[Skill Type]: Some fire type combat skills (make him an armored caster), but the bulk of his abilities would be based around his army of Immortals.  Maybe have him able to create up to ten, and he can res them when they die.  Other than his auto attack and maybe one self defense skill his abilities should focus on buffing his troops (maybe temporary fire damage added to their weapons, or temporary regen, or ohter sorts of things)
[Apperance]: Persian-style beard, maybe robes or maybe scale armor.  I picture lots of flames (he would be zoroastrian after all).
[Role]: Support, maybe with some tanking if he has armor; low ranged dps.
[Comments]: I love the word athanatos, and its original usage in a combat context was as the name of the Persian Immortals, the unit that always maintained its full complement of troops by instantly replacing casualties.  It seemed like a good way to implement a guy based on immortality/resurrection.

[Type]: General
[Theme]: Pub
[Skill Type]: Belch: Exhales poisonous fumes which inflicts damage and a 1-second stun on nearby enemies. Liquid Courage: All allies receive a temporary 50% boost in attack and movement speed, but their defense goes to zero. Gimme 'nuther: Drains his mug, healing himself, then slams the empty mug down, inflicting damage in immediate area. Beer-vision (passive): the power of alcohol filters out all things ugly, including nearby FoW.
[Apperance]: Fat drunk guy with a big mug of beer.
[Comments]: The Drunkard is slow and his regular attacks are weak, but by plying his troops with alcohol, they gain great enthusiasm and loose all fear of the enemy, making them extremely dangerous. Thanks to his Beer-vision, he sees much further into the FoW then other characters, ensuring he spots the oncoming enemy before they can see him. His 'Belch' attack is extremely fast to execute, and has a short cool-down, making it difficult for other demigods to execute their own special moves around him. His 'Gimme 'Nuther' both heals himself and knocks back enemies around him, making it useful when he's trying to escape a dangerous situation.

[Name]: warlord
[Type]: Assassin
[Theme]: unique game play style demigod including battle attack abilitys like an assassin and summoned controled units like a general
[Skill type]: basic tanker with special abilitys. spells:
     charge- the warlord dash into the marked spot, hiting in the ground causing splash damage and a minimal stun.
     sweep- the warlord swing his sword, damaging a cone of attack.
     inside look- the warlord damage the soul of a single enemy,the target taking high damage and unabel to attack for
     5 seconds.
     shift- the warlord vanish in to the ground and come out in the desirerd location.
     hell summon- the warlord summon 6 strong, fast warriors only existent for 20 second. can control them directly.
     split- the warlord split himself to 3, each one is 50% weaker and each one can cast only charge and sweep spells
     which are also weaker.
     revert- opposit ability to split, selected warlord vanish the others and become the one with the avarege amount 
     of hp and mana.
     worthfull death- each on of the war beast's summoned warriors gain the ability to explode, killing him and deal
     splash damage.
     rage of the summoned- hell summon cooldown is decresd and the summoned warriors have a higher lifetime and
     15% to critical & stun.
[Apperance]: medium+, black armor suited warrior wielding a heavy two direction sword.
[Role]: tanker with multiply units control spells.
[Comments]: name and spells name suck, I know but I have'nt got better ideas. I realy think he could match the game and if I wrote too much spells sweep and shift can go to match 4 active abilitiys but than add the inside look to split mode spells.

[Name]: The Nephilim.
[Type]: Assassin.
[Theme]: Heroic Giant.
[Skill Type]: Uses a two handed club.  He should have an aoe sweep type attack, along with a powerful bash (single target, not like Rook's aoe hammer slam).  Give him a self heal that drains his mana in exchange for temporary regen. 
[Apperance]: A tall (as in maybe twice as tall as a regular humanoid demigod), good looking man with dark hair and a beard, wearing an open-faced bronze helmet and a highly detailed bronze cuirass.  He wields a rather large club with bronze spikes on it.
[Role]: Melee dps.  He'd have a lot of health, but his armor wouldn't be so hot.  His big thing would be pounding the snot out of anything that let's him get his hits in.  I figure he'd rely more on a fast attack speed with decent damage for his regular attack, saving the much slower but more individually powerful hits for his skills.
[Comments]: Being the offspring of an angel and a human (pre-Flood biblical reference) he'd be all handsome and giant and whatnot.  I figure he'd be the kind of guy who would inspire tales like Homer's Achilles.

[Name]: The Atlantian
[Type]: Assassin
[Theme]: Technological Warrior
[Skill Type]: He should have minimal armor, relying instead on his skills to keep him alive.  He'd have a shield ability (maybe 5 seconds of massive damage reduction or something), a self heal, and several ranged attacks (maybe energy blasts for focused damage and a shockwave aoe attack).  He'd use an energy pistol for his basic attack. 
[Apperance]: Humanoid demigod with a teched-up ancient greek look to him.  He should probably have a backpack (power generator and storage for his extra weapons).
[Role]: Ranged dps.  He should not outrange towers ever, nor should he have any focus other than straight-up ranged damage output.  Anything else he can do would be for self defense purposes only (hence a shield and a heal).
[Comments]: I figure that Atlantis should be able to serve as a suitable inspiration for a demigod.  After all, wasn't the entire population of that continent pretty much supposed to be at least partly divine?  I think it'd give a good opportunity for a more technologically focused demigod.

[Skill Type]: Active. 1) Clash: Jump towards the enemy and smash wpn down causes large impact on location and small dmg infront of wp

                  Active. 2) Sweep: AoE attack sending units within range of weapon flying in a 180 degree angle

                  Active. 3) Charged sweep: Hold weapon to right side charging up to 30 yards towards enemy cutting all those on the right side                                                             in half and finish off with a large forward sweep at target location

                  Active. 4) Berserk: Runs back and forth side to side within a 20 yard location attacking anyone friend or foe within that radius

                  Passive. 1) Blademaster : Increase atk speed and precision by attacking vital areas causing critical hits

                  Passive. 2) Runner : Increase running form making the sword weigh you down less

                  Passive. 3) Shadow Strike : Increase chance of a 2nd atk immediately after with 75% less dmg then ur first strike

                  Passive. 4) Defence Stance : Increase defence and dodge chance slightly

[Apperance]: Human sized Demigod like Regulus but without the wings and high tech gear and more like a wanderer
