The new phaser defense platform for the federation looks good and works well. I'm also glad to see that they can survive a battle with enemies instead of just being a one or two shot thing and then scrap metal.
Why does the first post of the next page never show up until the next post is posted? Guessing that's what this is. Anyway, double post... yay... kindly ignore this one please.

I really like this mod. It's now my fav. I love how you've used armor and weapon damage so that ships "outclass" each other (for example, the colonizing capital class gets whooped by battle-focused capitals, as they should).
I appreciate that you're working to extend the life of some of the poor smaller ships that usually just get one-shotted and that tougher defenses will be a part of future releases.
Any thought to add some red alert sound effects now and then?

This mod is going to be so huge that it'd be all but a completely new game in its own right. I just wanted to thank the SoA team for all the effort be have and still are putting into this mod and for letting us all in on it too!

Mooster -- i have tried different ways for all the code etc no success the ability is an amalgamation of various codes from many abilities so i was expecting bugs and where you got what you posted i have no idea tbh as the ability has NOTHING to do with star base upgrades WHATSOEVER
If i cant get this fixed it will get removed but no doubt the lakota will still be in somewhere + one other NEW federation ship will appear (Do not post suggestions for this ship as its been selected and made just not making its appearance just yet ^^)
erm i ships flying thru borg cubes cant be possible as the borg are not currently in the mod and when they do appear in the mod ships wont fly through borg ships unless you are preparing for ramming speed !

Well after I did the changes I posted above, the excel gets the abiity icon and after I click it, the ships explode and a new ships comes out, but I think a better way to do it is to create something what the tech orbital hanger does. update the mesh and weapons when the research is done, but all of the excel will be upgraded though.
we are working on it mooster, right now the priority has switched to model imports and research trees, if we are unable to get to it now it will be removed and worked on later. Better to get the basics up and running prior to anything else wouldn't you agree?
mooster i allready tried all that months ago it wont work you might get one thing to work but somthing else wont eitherway the ability will be radically changed soon
but the models will be getting done before that

That explosion wasn't half bad, it probably could use more particle effects of debris flying away, but it was definately pretty big!

ah yes that borg cube i have 100% rebuilt it now so it looks better than ever and well if you are versing a player that is playing as borg you dont want to let him get that cube out or your toast !

I am glad to see that you guys got the Excelsior icon to work, and it's kinda cool to see it work, but I can understand what Dragoon meant by it having the planet bombardment as too powerful.
Also, great job on the turrets (though you have all the Klingon turret research mispelled as turrent), but I noticed that the skinning on the Federation turret is really shiny. Is it supposed to be that way, or are you still perfecting the texturing?
Other than that, everything seems to be proceeding well and I hope that everything continues to go well for ya.
*Oh, I also forgot to add, nice job on fixing the colors of the Quantum Torpedoes. They look great now!
A message to The Stress Puppy:
The "Classic Trek" timeline has not been wiped out due to the events of the movie. As was explicitly stated in the movie, the timeline in which the events take place is part of an "alternate reality". In much the same way as Back to the Future II, it procludes the ability for Spock to travel "back to the future" from this altered timeline, since it would be the future of this timeline. And not the timeline he once knew. It's only logical for him to remain in the "TNT" timeline. But the "Classic" remains intact due to being in a parallel universe co-existing with our own.

I haven't been keeping track much lately on what's been happening with the mod, but i'd love to see what you've done with it lately, either through gameplay videos or some new images. The PR department needs to get a better paycheck ![]()

yea i mispelled it, i was more worried about making it work than spelling...lol, but if you noticed the photons do not arm until you upgrade and it changes the model texture when it does. The fed turrent is alittle too reflective, i'm going to work on that more, and lower the phaser count. I was using it to test something and forgot to change it back

The federation ship choices have been made, because i wanted to keep the feds as canon (and dominion war) as possible. Being that they are the only faction that has enough choices of ships to keep them all canon. The other factions do not have that luxury. The only "iffy" ship choices will be for the new slots that entrenchment opened for us. I know some hate the shelly/curry, but it is canon dominion war. I have no issue with the slot switch with the connie.
I will try to get some klingon stuff done before i leave again
I have not had much time to do any modding thunder. So pics are few and far between. If shimmer ok's it testers can post pics.
Hey do you need beta testers? Because I would be willing to do that if you needed any help with that.
