As I thought, guns in a melee fight bestow unto the gunner a horrendous advantage.
A disclaimer: I do not contend that Regulus on his own is imbalanced. I do however contend that given how his primary ability is his gun (crossbow.... its a gun) and given that that weapon`s ability is improved by virtue of dedicated and compounding skill point applications, when you encounter *FOUR* Regulus characters all together they are unstoppable.
It reminds me of Zerglings charging a Terran bunker.
The Forces Of Light are in the lead overall in the Pantheon. I wonder how many groups of Light there are comprised entirely of Reguli?
This isn`t like taking out four Rooks or four Oaks... these characters have their primary weapon which *is* the focus of their ability point expenditures (unlike the primary attacks of Queen Of Thorns or TorchBearer ranged as they are) working at apt yet devastating range. In those circumstances Regulus could have an armour of 2 and a health of 3 for all that it matters. The time it takes for you to walk into melee with them is about 3 hits later. From each of the Reguli. That is guaranteed death once they get the process going, and getting that process going isn`t that hard.
I love this game, I know this has been discussed before, but I`ll say it anyway because it is as I feared it might be: fighting armies of Reguli is most definitely not fun.
Beyond eliminating the selection of duplicate characters in Pantheon play, I do not know how to mitigate this.
