Calling All Experienced Players - Regulus Challenge!

The Regulus Challenge

Can a team of Sniper Regulus consistently beat a mixed team of good players?

This has come up a few times but it seems like we should actually test it.

Who should play - anyone who has experience with Sniper Regulus against good players and anyone who can play a different DG in a team setting against good snipers.

I was part of a 4v4 Regs vs Rooks game on Cataract abotu 2 weeks ago.  At first, it was kinda of close, flags going back and forth, but when the rooks got boulder and towers, we completely dominated through map control, which led to a large level differential and the Regs couldnt keep up.

Just putting it out there, the total rook hp vs reg hp was just silly and also i dont think the reg team was very coordianted.  If the regs used mines combined with snipe w/ tracking, it could be horrible.

So what were the results of the challenge?

We couldn't get enough people together to try this.  :/

Maybe we'll try again after release.

I`m no master Regulus guy, but after some skirmishing against A.I. I found the consistent threshold for Regulus becoming unstoppable was the purchase of Ashkandar`s Sword. Applied to his ranged attack the weapon is THE gamechanger.

I think either that item must be increased significantly in cost to beyond that of the Allfather`s Ring, or it ought to have its compounding damage boost lowered by decreasing the additional 120 damage to 30 damage - 4x damage 10% of the time is colossal.

The only real counter to that is for every foe of Regulus (or any other Demigod) to also purchase that Item.

Where is the challange in this? 5x Regulus is easymode :P

I mean comeon what could be easier and more unfair than attacking every demigod from outside their reach and sniping them adeath as soon as they move an inch back...

But hey if you dindt get enough ppl to test it I would join you.

Yeah, it would be nice if snipe took a bit more skill.  At the moment it's just cherrypicking from afar

At least it has a maximum range out to which it can be done. Maybe the cooldown time period should be tripled to match its inordinate usefulness. No joke: tripled.

I really don't think it is that great.  I haven't used snipe in my regulus build in 2 weeks now.

you haven't ran into snipes in multiples then.  You are seriously pinned in your base for the whole game when there are 3+ snipes being thrown around.  Any time you step outside, you get instagibbed, or at least your health gets low enough that you have to go back to heal.  And then, by the time you come back, they recharged.

I actually do think it should have a higher recharge.  It should be the sort of skill you use to get the last hit on a retreating DG (or, effectively lower the dg's health by 1000 since if he tries running below that, he's a dead man), not something you spam from halfway across the map without actually having to engage them.

Hell, it's not like regulas can't engage other demigods anyway.  He's no slouch.
