Seriously needed!

Ability to click on the minimap and both 1) send your guy or guys there, and 2) scroll the map to that location.

you just need to zoom out and zoom in.  it'll take a while to get used to.

Supreme commander had what you are talking about and this game is based on the supcom engine.  They took out the minimap featues because this game only has 1 unit.

regardless of what the box says, I refuse to think of this as an RTS, just because you can tell things what to do doesnt mean its an RTS.

It's borderline psychotic that this wasn't in the game at launch.

It's a third person unit commanding game in real-time using a mouse.  It's an RTS.

It doesn't matter whether it's an RTS or not.  The point is, being able to do things with the minimap provides obvious utility and benefit, RTS or no RTS.

I agree this would be nice.  I for one have gotten use to not having it but still the option to instantly take a look at somewhere else on the map would be very handy. You can already freely move the camera around the map but its not nearly worth the effort where-as a simple click on the minimap would be excellent.  If the game wasn't meant to allow you to see what else is going on the camera would always be tracking the DG.  Why not make it easier?  Fleeing from an enemy is much harder without movement via minimap.

While on the topic of the mini map:

  • The ability to ping the mini-map would be nice also... I mean actually targeting the ping on the mini-map rather than the actual map.
  • Colored DG icons?
  • Viewport rectangle
  • Option to turn off the rotating orientation of the mini-map.  Replace orientation with an arrow showing which way you are facing.
  • Would be cool that if you could move the camera via mini-map it would do a quick Google Earth like animation where it zooms out and zooms in as it moves.  ;)  Perhaps a double click would just instantly move it.. skipping the animation.

=D

These are all important things that need to be put into Demigod...  Every RTS has them, so should Demigod.

Definitely agree, the minimap needs far more interaction.  All of these (but especially the OP's two points) NEED to be implemented.

yes please.  I need to be able to ping points of interest for my teammates, and this funtion would make teleporting away easier, instead of having to zoom out and select my team's citadel.

i'm not happy with the minimap in general. it should look simple, which it actually does, but still its overview kinda sucks. also you should be able to port (scroll or favoritem) via clicking a destination on the minimap. right now its only possible by clicking on an actual building. in the heat of battle things often need to be done quickly ... no time to scroll and select a building in your base. it's easier and faster to just click on a "vague" destination of your base on your minimap :)

I personally don't need a minimap scroll, as I do perfectly well with zooming in and zooming out, but I can see how some people would prefer it. A minimap scroll should probably be added/

Also, a good team ping is sorely needed.

Oh yeah, remappable camera controls 2pls

I don't feel this is lacking because of the room out.. but wouldn't hurt.

I know i'd never use it since it's quicker to zoom out and click than to move my cursor to a precise location on the tiny minimap

I'd also say that half the time when I die, the entire map plus minimap rotates to some other position.  If this effect is to be kept, it should autorotate back to its last position when your demigod reincarnates.  It is irritating for me to have to sit there and hand rotate it back to where I had it.
