Rook's Towers are Broken, they self destruct after short amounts of time

Please notify me if I am doing something wrong, but why do Rook's towers fall apart even at full health after a short amount of time?  Makes investing in the skill to get many up at a time worthless, since by the time you raise the third one of them crumbles?!

Seems to be very broken.  Other than that Rook is great!

As you increase the skill you can have more than 2. I thought it was how the skill work, but now I never use it anymore. They last too short and dont do much damages. Actualy I find them pretty useless (or just for heal with another skill, but never trie).

The tool tip for the skill says you can only have 2 towers up at once. So when you raise a third the first tower will be destroyed.

Towers are excelent when used aggresivley against long range players that try to keep out of your range.

Place them forwards of the flags and get the towers on rooks sholders/head for maximum affect...

Rank 4 of the skill lets you have 8 towers.

That's for the first level of the skill, second lets you have four I think, and third lets you have six. I've also experienced my towers destructing themselves, though never when I was near one. I think they have some sort of timer that counts down to self-destruction once you wander off. That's just a guess though, I really have no clue. I havent found them perticularily useful... if the enemy demigod has any ranged skills he'll be able to take them out without them firing back at him.

Ya theres a time limit on them... Not sure if intended or not.

But after a while they will crumble... It's a decent length though, it's not like its 15seconds.

They will also crumble if you place more then the current skill allows, it will crumble the oldest one... Skill order is somethign like 2, 4, 6, etc.

But ya, there seems to be a timelimit on towers...

And I think if it's intended it's a good idea...

I've never been beat on the dmg chart at end of the game spamming towers, they arn't broken at all, they have a life timer.. which is realitivly short makign them high maintance.. No worries though.. higher the skill rating the longer they last.. Also get the skill reduction items.. one a favor, thats 20% and the other is... artifact i believe.  That reduces towers to a 4 sec cooldown.. makign it VERY easy to hold a lane by yourself.. to prevent ninja pushers.. which weaker players like to do.

Hes a great defense player.. but very mana based... and towers are just GODLY.. 8 of them up doing about 140-180 dmg a second(towers lvl 4)... is 1120-1440 dps+rooks hammer and rock roll+independant weapon.. no hero can come close to that.. and they won't come close to the towers.. makes it nice fort battles and such.

P.S. Make sure you play with a friend. pugs are such a pain.. towers in pugs are meh.. since you can't communicate well with your team to use them.. To start off get three mana items first.. and sit in the back don't push your towers at first.. let them be a close fall back point for yoru friends...You will save more lives then sedna(w/e her name is).

I find just getting the starting helm and the +800 health favor item is enough for a good deal of the early game. After that get Heart of Life and you'll never need mana pots again.  Then get another piece of armor to make you tough, and boots to make you fast.  By then, the game should be almost over if you've been whacking down enemy towers all game.

Structural transfer and natural damage makes you godly against towers.

Teleport scrolls are your best friend.  While you may want to keep a heal pot just in case in the early game, it's more effective and safer to just teleport out and in.

Yes there is an internded timer on all of Rooks towers.

I find Heart of Life difficult to use with The Rook because it requires that you don't take any damage, and he's extremely slow.

But then again, if you have a nearby tower fort (;)) to retreat to, then it's unlikely anyone will follow you in there.

I used the towers to great effect the other day, I powered up to the full 8 and was spamming them like crazy in a 2v3 god killer match, the more the enemy's minions attack your towers rather than the map ones the more damage you have for a longer period of time. I too have noticed them crumble away after a while though and it's kind of a pain they can't be permanent until destroyed, i mean it's not like they have tons of health, even at max level...

Just tried a custom game and get the skill at full level with heart of life. Wasn't so useless. And there was another rook with towers on the ennemy team. Was lot of fun ^^

So DEVS you need to realize the tower upgrades are currently useless, byt the time you raise three towers one crumbles, and you are supposed to spec into up to 8!!   These are INCREDIBLY useful if you also take rook's own lazer and then chain them from the base, linking all lazers for some massive defense.

PLEASE FIX!

What the heck is Nightsb4ne still going on about.

You can have 8 towers up no problem.

Yeah, he's delusional. It's easy to get eight up, but I agree that they shouldn't die from some count down, that's annoying and adds nothing to the game.

If this DIDNT happen they'd be broken.

They work fine.

Save for early game they're not exactly a threat.... you can only have 8 up for a short time and they all need to be in the same area. Doesn't seem all that useful to upgrade past 6 cause of it.

The cooldown alone on waiting to build another one makes building more then 3 impossible.  I have tried this many different games with no damage to them with the same result.  It is impossible to get up more than three.  Perhaps some of you are capping skill reduction flags?  Out the gate with no skill reduction after three one crumbles.

There is really ZERO reason why they should crumble anyway, it already limits you to a max number, and it is likely you will move them, so let them stay up!  It certainly wont be something that will be OP and need to be dealth with like Oak's stunlocking cooldown skill ect.

You can have more than 3. Just need some upgrade of mana or item like heart of life. I'm not an expert with them but in last game I see a rook build eight around him.

I'm still not really fan of them. I prefer the other skills ^^

if it requires a favor item to get past three, that't not working as intended.

You are missing the point, upgrading the skill as it currently is stated is worthless, making it a worthless tree.

I have tons of towers up all the time.  My favorite build in the game so far is completely tower based.  Early game towers are great for holding flags and killing creeps, more effective than hammer since you can pull back and heal while the tower still deals damage.

Once you get max towers and structural transfer you have near constant healing available as long as you're near a tower (which you always should be if you're fighting at all) making you one of the best front line tanks and a beast to take down with godplate or any decent armor really.

Teleport scrolls are indeed your best friend.

Citadel upgrades seem to be affecting rook towers too so if you're going for a tower build, buying the upgrades is a must.

I think the time limit is appropriate. They don't demolish when the Rook dies, but they will disappear after a period of time. A Tower build Rook can be pretty annoying. :P

I'd rather seem them vanish when the Rook dies, but the current situation is fine by me.

I wish they'd last a little longer, though I never actually knew that the citadel upgrades affected the towers, so I may try that and see how the balance is. I just know that if I'm playing against a decent player I've never been able to keep more than four up at once, their HP is just too low late-game, and you really gotta focus on putting them up. Early game they don't get destroyed too easily, but the timer on them usually takes them down before they become too useful to me. The build doesn't seem too great unless you're playing with an unskilled or average player, and get alot of support from your allies.

They don't.  The tower stats are only affected by the level of your skill.

You can test this in about 20 seconds by using a tower, buying the structure defense upgrade, and using a tower again.  If you do this at the beginning of a game, both towers will have 1500 health before and after.  I didn't notice any AOE effects the last time I tried this with other upgrades, either.
