Singleplayer - Major Features Cut?

I am very underwhelmed with Demigods singleplayer offering, I was expecting more and I remember reading this:

Post by Frogboy:

A lot of attention has been given to Demigod's multiplayer capabilities.  I like to think that Demigod will be the Counterstrike of strategy games.

But what about the single player experience?

Well, one of the big changes since Stardock and Gas Powered Games have teamed up is the single player game.  Stardock takes single player games very very seriously. You could say it's our area of expertise.

In a couple of weeks, we hope to unveil here the single player concept.  I think people will be pretty pleased as those who are worried that single player will merely be skirmishes or some scripted campaign need not worry. We have something really special and unique in development.

Stay tuned!

What was given to the gamers as a singleplayer experience at retail release, that *can't* be what Stardock and GPG intended as something special and unique. All we got is a spreadsheet that shows who's ahead in ascension points and then a fight next battle button. Is there something in the works to address the woefully simplistic singleplayer experience of Demigod in the near future?

This is dota.. dota isn't singleplayer.  If you bought this game for singleplayer i'm sorry.  I really wish the devs would not have said ANYTHING about singleplayer.  It sucks for the people who were buying this to play mostly with themselves.

They can't do anything "special" with singleplayer.  This game is simply:

1) Select heroes

2) Fight other heroes and creeps

3) Buy upgrades / items

4) Repeat 1-3.

I remember him saying that.  I don't think SP was needed, but I remember him saying that.

I think there were just more important things.  So yes, it seems like it got cut. *Shrugs* I don't care, though.  Somewhat glad.  Should just release it as DLC that SP players can buy.  I don't like paying for SP that I don't even want to play.

Look, there are a number of things which weren't ultimately implemented as originally promised in DG. Generals aren't really RTS-style commanders of armies. The single player experience isn't fleshed out.

That's how some video games are. For what DG is, it's special.

Pretty sure someone will make a singleplayer experience once the mod tools are released.
