[TEAM Pantheon] No demigod restrictions - Remade/Continued

Okay, I've decided to remake the topic, as the previous one was a mixture of rantings/conveyed thoughts, a long with a misdirective suggestion.

So, the new team pantheon is apparently under going construction, and to be released soon (or so ive heard and assume as i present my arguments). While the current pantheon stresses on the single player, it is able to allow demigods restricted to one side. The team pantheon however, should NOT have demigods restricted to either side, and instead should allow both sides to pick ALL demigods. Allow me to explain. Where the single player pantheon focuses on a player picking his favorite demigod and fighting for that demigod's associated side, the team pantheon revolves around team of demigods. Limiting them to only one half of the demigods is a gigantic shackle to the possibilities of different combinations, especially when the lightside has more defensive characters, and the darkside has almost all offensive characters. All of the demigods are completely unique to eachother, and would be very difficult to balance from a team pantheon perspective.

Don't confuse my suggestion, however. I'm not suggesting that the current pantheon allow all demigods on both sides. I'm suggesting that in the future, when the new team pantheon comes out, it allows teams from either side to pick all demigods. The current pantheon will stay the way it is with light demigods vs dark demigods, but the new pantheon should not restrict either side to only dark/light demigods.

Other minor suggestions just to make it more competitive, is to remove the forces of light vs dark theme entirely from the team pantheon, and instead make it an all-out competitive ladder. Teams battle it out for the most favor points accrued with in their own team alone, rather than the side they choose. The ladder resets when the highest team caps out. Possible non-gameplay rewards could be given, like some kind of title, or rank, or what have you to the top 3 teams. This would remove any bias towards choosing one side, and also make it more competitive to try and be the number one team. HOWEVER, don't confuse THIS minor suggestion with the main suggestion labeled in the initial paragraph. I'd rather have that one than this, and this is just a minor icing to the cake of what I am trying to explain, but not entirely needed.

Seeing as how it'll be the only way for rankings, i think arranged teams in pantheon should allow to pick from either side, yeah..

WHATS THE USE OF PLAYING FOR GOOD OR EVIL IF YOU DONT COMMIT TO A SIDE????

It'S like Dark Vador suddenly having a change of heart and destroying the death star because its "mean".

I'm sure he reason you want to not commit is because you wanna be able to switch to the latest uber spam technique at will. Thus I suspect your playing Regulus right now as the forces of light but the moment someone develops a uber technique for Lorb Erebus fo example (my dude ;) ) suddenly you'll want to change side and nail everyone with him!

Whats the point of playing a tournament for one or the other side if both can use each others forces!

one word: LAME!!!!!

You explained this much better this time. It's just that the word Pantheon here is a bit confusing.

I agree, there should be a ranked team vs. team mode, and all demigods should be avaible for use there.

However, I still like the idea of Pantheon, light and dark demigods against each other has flavor. But since you aren't even suggesting removing the old Pantheon, from what I understand anyway, I agree

This isn't about the old pantheon, this is in regards to the new upcoming team pantheon that IS going to be implemented soon, but this idea more or less regards to removing any restrictions (if any, at that). Less caps lock and question marks, please.

Your stupidity is too great for me sir, I commend you. Seriously, are you that ignorant?

I don't believe the OP is talking about not commiting to a side.  You still have to commit to a side, either Light or Darkness.

BUT, when selecting which demigod to play in a battle, all 8 are avaliable.  That is what I believe they are suggesting.

I sort of agree.

IMO having that game mode also puts a damper on adding new demigods as now you always have to add 2 (one for light and one for darkness).

Also with 8 completely different Demigods, the odds of having truely balance teams when you only have 1/2 of them avaliable to you gets to be a bit of a nightmare and I think it might force the devs to homogenize either individual demigods or just some of thier powers.

So while it's less *in character* I'm thinking that for balance reasons it might be better that both Light and Darkness has access to all demigods.

I have no issues with a "Clan" Pantheon allowing players to choose any Demigod. This is assuming that in a "Clan" Pantheon the players would be earning favor for their clan and not the sides of Light or Dark.

Of course, I'm also assuming that a "Team" Pantheon would be a "Clan" Pantheon, and if this is the case I would totally support the idea. If a "Team" Pantheon is simply pre-arranged teams (with no Clan requirements for teams) fighting for Light or Dark then it'd be a little wierd and would kind of take away from the "Default" Pantheon.

Eh, I don't think it should REQUIRE you to be in a clan to play in a pre-arranged pantheon, although I never thought of the idea of a clan earning favor points rather than just a team. I like that idea actually, although it would only warrant clans to recruit as much people as possible.

But regardless, I think even if it doesn't force you to play with a clan or base favor around the clan, a-lot of the top competitors will very likely be in clans.

i agree partly with Daikaze, if all the demigods are allowed to be played on a team then it makes more sense to simply make that team fight for its own cause (ex. clans).  thus removing the argument that light and dark demigods should be split up.  rather than clan pantheon though it might make more sense to have a set number of "big" teams, say 8... and then clans can group join which ever say team they chose.  then when Stardock is doing the ranking they don't have like 500 mini clans taking up the bottom 90% of the leader board.
