[BUG] Erebus' bite definitely not very responsive. Definitely frustrating.

So just in one night of playing Erebus I think there has been at least 30 counts of Erebus' bite not going off when you are literally in range for an "eskimo kiss". And the worst part of this is that not only does bite not go off, but he just sits there like a retard as the person with 300 hp just runs away slowly. He will sit there and only attack things that are in range of him as if you right clicked the area he stops in.

 

Scenario: Erebus vs TB round 1, fight! (Disclaimer: This is merely a reinactment and any resemblence between characters is merely coincidental.)

Spells go off.

Erebus is winning, TB is around 1k hp.

Erebus bites.... nothing happens... bite!... nothing.. BITE!! BITE DAMN YOU!! ;) (1, click, 1, click, one, CLICK CLICK CLICK, ONE CLICK ONE CLICK! WTF!?)

TB runs away while Erebus hears a mumble that sounds like "What a noob. HA!"

 

-No they dont have more run speed than me, in fact I usually have more run speed than most enemies do because I know I need to close in for bites.

-Yes I AM clicking it the right way at the right time. It happens even More when i use ctrl click.I can see the enemy INSIDE of the freakin circle reticule for the range for bite. I could literally fart and the TB would catch my ass on fire.

-Yes I have mana.


There's really no explination except for the fact that Erebus' bite is buggy atm. Which is beyond frustrating when this is his staple skill.

Can this be confirmed?

Aye, I've heard of a lot of cases of this happening with a number of different characters, but I've noticed it the most while playing erebus. It seems like some kind of pathing issue, which could help explain why it seems so prevalent in Erebus (since he needs to be so close to connect).

Once you realize what's happening you can quickly click to move then reissue thecommand at very little loss of time, but that's hardly a fix =P

Also can easily spell your doom if it happens mid-swing against rook's hammer of SPLAT

I have noticed similar issues while playing with UB.  It is very frustrating to have an enemy DG down to their last HPs only to have them start running away and have the UB get stuck and just stand there doing nothing allowing the DG to get away cleanly.

I've had the same problem with Erebus, not alot but sometimes he just stops responding after given the bite order. Still, i caught myself getting silenced after i pressed 1 (bite) and before I clicked on my target. Maybe there's some bug there. The rest of the time i misclick on some mobs, run out of mana or opponents get shielded. There are alot of reasons why bite wouldnt work. But I can't say that Erebus is weak and unplayable. Most of the times bite works fine and is slightly overpowered imo :p

Same problem and I have it over and over again with erebus. It gets really frustrating. Also I find erebus ability to find paths very very poor. In crucible if you tell him to go to the flag from the base hell just walk into a border and do nothing yet even his minions and summoned units will find the path perfectly without walking into boundaries.

Yep, this has happened multiple times for me as well.  It's usually when I try to execute a bat-swarm + stun + bite combo that it becomes a bat swarm + stun + stand there like a goof combo.

The bite glitch has cost me a few kills as well as earned me a few deaths.

I have this happen way too often with the bite on erebus, and the spit on UB :(

It's a problem a good many characters have in this version, it seems, but it tends to go over more with those that have higher attack speeds.  Sedna, LE, and UB suffer from it quite frequently, when I'm playing them.

I'm thinking it may be something to do with, say, the computer waiting for the attack animation to finish before it starts the casting animation, and there's a certain point where the attack's already done and yet this doesn't register, resulting in a character that just stands there until you interrupt their indecision with a move-click.

I think you're on to something here.

 

I sure hope this gets taken care of, this is the next most annoying thing to the multiplayer connection issues... but that was fixed by www.gameranger.com.

spit on ub as well as someone noted out , 2x times today i went for blink/spit/drain combo and he was standing there in tower range like a retard

It happens after you use some kind of warp, whether it be warpstone, cloak of night, bat swarm, ect. you just have to click movement somewhere to start moving and you can use your abilities again. Happens to me when I'm playing erebus and batswarm, or when I play oak and use cloak of night and try to pentinence after I warp to someone.
