"3) Currently you can purchase a rank 3 idol use it / sell it / buy the next rank and cast that and get the next level minion. So potentially I can have up to 8 priests / 8 archers / 8 melee"
Great strategy for 'how to lose the game'
Actually I have been playing around with QoT quite a bit to see if she is even viable in combat as non-support because every online game / hard AI game I have played she seems to be the weakest i.e. free kill. What I have found is a build that focuses on minion health items / forest band and ground spike. I purchase lvl 1 and 2 archer idols at start coupled with ground spike I will usually be the first one with a kill (only if I can convice the enemy demigod to come far enough away from his towers since QoT is not a tank by any means) late game lvl 3 and 4 archer and lvl 4 priests + shambler with all buffs (including compost) I usually run the map unless there is an enemy UB in the mix. I am still working on a build (maybe scatter in some bramble shield?) to deal with UB.. but hes just such a... BEAST!
But as far as the minions go yes I do see that they do stuff in the background that you dont even know about and there should be things like pop up damage for all minions you control + an indicator what buffs / debuffs they are casting etc. just so they dont appear so bloody useless!
Oh and one last thing. It has been mentioned before that this game is so great because you can play a demigod any way you want, however I have found a major flaw in that statement. If you try to play a behind the lines support character you will not get any EXP so if I wanted to play a Sedna that focuses on healing and running away unless I am capping flags I will never level so maybe implement an exp gain for support abilities cast on other demigods? Just dont give too much exp else on slaughter people will sit in base and cast heal etc, to level before comming out.
