New Demigod Concept: Dragon?

I saw someone mention the idea of a Dragon as a Demigod but couldn't find any threads about it. What do we all think? A Dragon type demigod, scaled to be close to the size of the Rook with Dragon like abilities. I don't feel like listing all the abilites it could have, most would be kinda obvious. What do you all think?

A dragon as a special unit that can be upgraded after golems which would mighty costy, send out 1 per spawn, and do some good damage against other demigods would be sweet

Sounds cliche and boring.

NO NO NO!!! No dragons!! I despise Dragons!! I commend the developers for not putting in a dragon!  I have like a Dragonphobia for lack of a better word...not that I'm afraid...I just despise them and all myths surrounding them!!!

I actually like this idea, we need more demigods as big as the rook :)

A dragon would be pretty cool

I don't see the problem with a dragon, but maybe it's just that I haven't been exposed to too many dragons...

Well duh, they don't exist...haha :p

I will never play as that Demigod, EVER, if they make a dragon demigod...

It's too un-original

maybe a giant something-that-isn't-a-dragon as big as the rook would be cool

What if it talks, though? And has missile launchers on the wings?

It could have skills like "shoop da woop" and "charging mah lazerz".

i hate the idea of a dragon like every one has been saying its just not original but i do think another creature as big as the rook would be cool or a creature that changes in size as it levels so its really small at lvl one but at lvl 20 its as big as the rook

Just like Kid Icarus, Dracula, and Poison Ivy?

...and where have I see a cat riding hero before...

Sedena

I love how all the Demigods have plenty of character and are unique, but I wouldn't say they are all so far out there and orginal that a giant mythogical lizard has no place in Demigod.

No dragons.

Dragons are emblematic of cliche, tired fantasy archetypes with Scottish dwarves, forest elves, wizards with pointy hats and apostrophes in character names. Demigod has an original fantasy background. Please don't spoil it with generic fantasy creatures.

Connatic, you're being unfair. Not every angel is Kid Icarus. Not every vampire is dracula. While you have a point with Poison Ivy, not every cat-riding character is Priestess of the Moon. Demigod characters have depth to them. Regulus is a tragic hero who was maimed and lived in captivity for years before being rescued. Lord Erebus is a clever and amusing character with his techno-suit and poetry. Queen of Thorns is one of the flatter characters, admittedly. Nevertheless, Demigod's characters are portrayed well enough not to be cliches.

So you can Make an "original" vampire (wow, what a rare creature in fantasy games), Angel (so "rare", that even 1-winged ones are geting old), and a naked nature-gril (hey that's new, if we don't count all those driads and fairies), but OH-NO-NO, there can never be such thing as an original dragon...

Most of the time they are "your standard big-bad-boss". So, anyone can compile a list of games where you get a dragon as your main?

Queen is somewhat original, walking fortress is new...

But when did "Noble Vampire" become original? Regulus is just a new compiliation of old stuff. Sedna's basicly a rephrasing of a druid. An un-dieing warior? Heard that already... A corrupted life-stealing beast? Wow! how new... and the one in summoner even looked like this one... A mage of two opposing elements wow, what a newcommer...

Atleast there're no elves...

DG is at middle level of originality - a golden spot level - enought cliches to hook a good amount of people, not enought to scare them away.

For that balance mid-popular figurants are best option - ketaurs, werewolfs, angels, demons, dragons, vampires... Just don't get in a dwarf/elf/gnome/hobbit or on contrary centrepide with two heads, human-like legs, wings and kangoroo-bag.

Always pussled me - why aren't humans considered cliche? I'm tired of them being the most poular (and sometimes even the one and only) PC race...

I say the new dg should be MAN BEAR PIG!

i was the person who made the thread, or one of the people that made a thread about a large fire dragon that was useful in melee range.

or a hydra thatd be awsome too!

Well whats so hard about creating a clever back story for a giant red dragon? Besides their look and their story, Angles and Vampires are just as cliche. Heck, have you seen Frogboy's post about Demigod #1 concepts. He's entertaining the idea of the classic pointy hat "Merlin" wizard.

How about a HUGE CHOCOBO!?!?!?

Kidding!

How 'bout an air elemental quadruple swordweilding Djinn that focuses on self buffs like increased movement speed and dodge, and modal ability that makes him spin like a tornado doing continouos damage to sorrounding enemies (kinda like Erebus's mist but he gets to move around at an increased speed, also, damage would be based on his actual melee attack power). He will be a General type character who, for a change, will have two types of unique minions - One does nothing but heal and the other does nothing but restore mana (He can only have one or the other). :-)

That's acceptable... as long as it never makes it into the actual game. Heck, and I thought Archivarius on Apr. 1st was worst developer joke of this year... Well that one was dumb but not scary. But a wizard with a pointy hat? Going to appear on my screen? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
