Stardock is in Michigan?!?

I was just curious to see where Stardock was located (for some reason I thought it was East Coast) -- and it seems as if Stardock was founded in and headquartered in Michigan. That's my home state and where I live now! :D

I'm so excited if this is true. Keep up the hard work. I'm glad to know there's some cool software companies here that are doing games. This doubles my support of the company.

Sorry if this should be in off topic, I didn't quite know where to put it because it is Stardock related but not necessarily integral to Demigod as a topic.

Anyway, cheers.

Hehe... Yep, Stardock is just about the only company in Michigan doing well. The govenor even mentioned it in the State of the State address. The thread with a link can be found somewhere on the forums.

Edit: here it is! http://forums.demigodthegame.com/338703/page/2/#2066104

Don't forget we also have eprize, the source of most of those annoying scams you come across online!!!

Michigan is pretty awful I was surprised myself to find out stardock is located here. I doubt they'll be sticking around much longer if they continue to grow.

They are located about 15 minutes from where I live in farmington hills, I should go check it out sometime, maybe they will give me a tour!!!:D

And they were giving some really nice tax incentives IIRC to come to Mich, hopefully though Granholm gets put into Supreme Court(LOL!) and we don't have to deal with her anymore.

Yep, good ol Michigan. Stardock's in a medium-sized building on Beck road. My boyfriend works there, so we moved into an apartment abt 10-15 mins away from it. It's a really nice area.

Youre in farmington hills Chevelleking? Come play demigod with the SD clan, dawg!

Very doubtfull that they will move.  They've been there over 20 years and it's where Brad/Frogboy is from.  Plus it's cheap to live in Michigan.  What get's you a studio condo in Cali or the east coast will get you a 3000+ square foot home on a lake in Michigan.

And what's awful about Michigan?  Got to have some of the best outdoor recreation in the country.  And there are plenty of jobs here despite what the media tells you, just not in the automotive industry.  My area on the west side of the state is actually doing quite well.  All our auto plants closed 20 years ago so we actually learned this thing called "diversity" in business.  Thus we aren't being hit that hard with the big three troubles.

Anyway...

Especially since they're just expanded into a second building a few months ago :P

I think it was just expanding into the rest of the current building. They didn't occupy the entirety of the original building. They bought one of the lower floors now.

If it is anything like Ohio (where I live) it is nice for 2 weeks a year in the spring and fall, after that its either really hot or really cold.

Heck... For what those condos cost, you could probably buy an auto factory to live in...

Oh. Well, close enough. I just knew they were getting more office space, so I assumed another building :)

Also Michigan is cool. For one reason.

Just wait until the zombies invade. You'll wish you were near the great lakes so you could own a Zombie Escape Yacht (ZEY) like me. I'll be getting a tan, eating cheetohs and drinking rum while the rest of the world burns.

Suckers!

Until you figure out you are close to some of the largest cities in the midwest (chicago and all them). Then you will have zombies clawing their way up your anchor chain. I would personally pick somewhere on the top of a steep mountain in a remote area of Canada to go in case of zombies.

I moved here in January from Houston TX to work at Stardock. You need to redefine "really hot".  LOL

For me "really hot" means above 80

After all, much above that and my room AC can't keep up with the heat my computer makes...

Troy checking in here.. about 30 minutes from SD.. lol.

I dunno about "really hot", but I'm in Minnesota so I can redefine "really cold".

Zombies don't swim, thats a myth. Nor do they walk along the bottom.

Trust me, I've researched this! You are all safest if you come to Michigan and buy a ZEY

You'll get 90s and super humid (the biggest issue around here) but most summers it doesn't last more then a week or so.  And usually late August/Early September you get that "cold front" that ends summer for sure and you get a nice fall while Texas is still baking in heat.  You'll probably won't even use your A/C this first summer.  LOL
